Actors Nam Joo-Hyuk and Lee Sung-Kyung, who previously starred in Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo, might be reuniting once more in a webtoon-based K-drama. Just last month, it was reported that the 28-year-old actor is close to accepting the role, as confirmed by his agency, Management SOOP.
If he accepts the role, he would be playing the role of Ji Yong, a rookie police university student and a vigilante. In order to find his parent’s enemies, he enters the police university and every weekend, Ji Yong takes the law into his own hands to give judgment to criminals––leaving police to investigate him as well. It is also reported that this may be the actor’s last project before going into the military.
Aside from Nam Joo-Hyuk, his ex-girlfriend Lee Sung-Kyung is rumored to be part of this webtoon-based drama as well. Rumors have it that the actress is being wooed to play the role of Choi Mi Ryeo, a reporter who has caught on to the actions of Ji Yong. It is reported that it is the producer of the webtoon drama himself that is eyeing for the actress to join the cast.
If both parties agree, they would be paired up once again. This will be the first time since their hit show Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo that they will be on-screen partners. It was reported that after their drama, the two hit it off and started dating in real life. However, months after admitting to the public their relationship status, the couple had broken up.
Nam Joo-Hyuk recently captivated many viewers with his splendid acting in Twenty-Five Twenty-One. Meanwhile, Lee Sung-Kyung is starring in the ongoing drama, Sh**ting Stars.
