From Manila girl to island girl.

I think people are much chill more on the island. It’s probably the lifestyle, probably the salt water, I don’t know. That’s what I noticed comparing people here in Manila and in Siargao,” bungad ni Nadine sa panayam.

Life here in the city is so fast, like everyone is rushing. Even me ha, I feel the same way, I feel like I have to rush this, this, this. It’s never ending, it’s tiring. But when you’re on the island, parang everything is so chill and slow, save [for] work. The moments are even more… dito kasi pak, pak, pak, done. But there it’s like, ‘ah okay nice,’” ani aktres.

I don’t know, I’ve always been, and I always wanted to be in nature. I am really a city girl, I think. And it’s funny because last year it was around May ata, mayroon kasi akong life coach, si Tita Cindy, we had a session, it’s a manifestation session. And we grabbed a piece of paper and a pen and she would asked me questions and one question she asked me was ‘where do you see yourself in two years?’ And then sinulat ko without hesitation. And ang sinulat ko is near the mountain or on the beach or by the mountain or by the beach. And then couple of months later, like I find myself living in Siargao and wow that’s crazy. I really believe in manifesting,” sambit ng aktres.

It was really scary kasi I think two days had passed na wala pa rin; no contact from the island like zero and then you don’t see anything on the news. So, sobrang nagwo-worry na ako non. Of course, I have a lot of friends on the island. I have Chris (Christophe Bariou), my boyfriend, who was on the island as well with his family and by the third day ata yun, someone sent me a message on Whatsapp with a long message saying that he is okay, blah blah blah. You know it’s really scary na you don’t even really know if your loved ones are okay and safe and from all the videos that I saw the day before the second day, kasi may mga videos from the people na lumabas sa island kasi as in zero cell service like nothing,” ani Nadine.

One of the stadiums where a lot of people were staying, yung roof niya nilipad siya ng hangin. And my friends were staying and when I saw that video, I was really, really worried, ‘di ba nakakatakot e, so sabi ko talaga I can’t stay here,” ani Nadine.

It has its magic. I think it’s something that people really fall in love with when they see and visit Siargao for the first time. The island hasn’t lost in touch, it’s still there,” pahayag pa ng aktres.
