An artist that wears many hats, Candy Pangilinan is not just a talented comedienne and actress, she also became an author as well after releasing her book Mommy Dear: Our Special Love in 2017 which chronicles her journey as a single parent raising her only son Quentin who was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Last April 12, the 49-year-old actress shared the more difficult challenges she takes on everyday raising her son at home in celebration of April as International Autism month. In her Instagram post, she wrote, “There are good days, there are tantrums/meltdown days. Children with adhd/autism oftentimes cannot understand how and why they are feeling such. Parents understanding and tolerance is needed. You can cry but you are not allowed to shout and give up.

“I too admittedly sometimes do not know what to do anymore. I close my eyes and take a few breaths. I remind myself that there are better days ahead. I think of ways on how I can help/better understand his ongoing emotion.

“April is international Autism month. Let's be more kind with each other. I do hope that one day inclusion may truly happen in this country.”
