After seven years of estrangement, Diego Loyzaga has finally reconciled with his father, Cesar Montano.

The 26-year-old actor expressed his joy over being reunited with his dad as he shared photos of them together on Instagram on Thursday, March 3.

"7 years is a long time for a son not to see his father. After seven years, after mistakes, God made a way to bring us together again," said Diego.

"I apologize for the impulsiveness of my youth. If we could take back the words and the distance and the time wasted, I would," he wrote. "One thing we can do is make up for it. It was so good to see you and play ball with you today."

It is unknown what exactly caused the rift between Diego and his father, but in 2017, the younger actor unleashed a tirade against Cesar, calling him a liar and a hypocrite. He also called out his dad for allegedly accusing him of using drugs and for purportedly rejecting him when he was young.

In his post, Diego also urged his followers to value their family and loved ones "for tomorrow is not promised."

"As I mature, the more I wish saying sorry was enough to fix all of the world's problems," he said. "Just peace and love and nothing else matters."

Among those who expressed their happiness for the two was Diego's mother, actress Teresa Loyzaga.

"You make me proud son. I love you," she said.

Aside from Diego, Cesar has three children with his former wife, actress Sunshine Cruz: Angelina, who is a recording artist; Sam, a Star Magic talent; and Chesca, who recently turned 16.
