When Kristine Hermosa gave birth to her fifth child with husband Oyo Sotto last year, many did not know why their consider their youngest son Vittorio Isaac not just an unplanned pregnancy but a miracle baby as well. In their interview on Toni Gonzaga’s vlog this month, the couple revealed the medical condition they were both trying to overcome before getting pregnant again.

The couple admitted they had both been undergoing treatment for their hormones.

“Ang story kasi niyan ni Isaac yung bunso, kaya namin hindi ini-expect na mabubuntis siya kasi at that time bago siya magbuntis, kaming dalawa pareho kaming we were having problems with our hormones. As in nagpa-check kami. May problema ako sa testosterone ko, sa estrogen ko. As in out of whack talaga. Tapos pati siya. So super baba daw ng estrogen niya. Ang nagpapatakbo na lang daw sa kanya is yung testosterone. Nagulat kami. Nag-ba-bike naman ako. Nag-wo-workout ako. One day nag-wo-workout kami, grabe hindi ko mabuhat. As in gusto ko umiyak. Sabi ko bakit ganun? Parang biglang nawala yung strength ko.

“Sinabi ng doctor as in napakaliit ng chance na magkaroon pa kayo ng isang baby. Gusto nga magpa-sperm count eh. Yun na yung sinabi ng doctor na kung okay lang naman magpa-sperm count daw ako kasi yung testosterone ko is very low and yung estrogen ko is sobrang taas. Kaya pala irritable ako. Konting ano lang naiinis talaga ako. Inaasar na nga kami ni daddy nun, ‘Ano wala na bang kasunod? Grabe pandemic oh, wala bang nangyayari sa inyo?’ Ginaganun kami ni daddy. Sabi ko, ‘Sinusubukan nga namin dad eh pero wala talaga eh.’ Hindi naman namin maikuwento sa kanila lahat nung mga pangyayari. Biglang nagulat kami,” he recalled.

Kristine recalled how she did not expect the initial diagnosis regarding her condition.

“Hindi planado si Isaac and si Vin. Kasi medyo dikit yung pagitan ni Caleb at ni Vin. Sabi namin, ‘Lord bahala ka na. Kasi ikaw naman ang nakakaalam kung game pa ba ako.’ According to the doctor, yung hormones ko daw pang 65 years old. So wala kaming ginawa. Ginagamot namin yung hormones,” she added.

Now happy raising their children Kristian Daniel, Ondrea Bliss, Kaleb Hanns, Marvic Valentin, and Vittorio Isaac, Kristine said they are not closing their doors on having more children in the future.

“Hindi talaga namin alam sa totoo lang. Kasi wala pang sinasabi si God eh. At saka ayoko rin naman magpatali,” she admitted.
