Known for her character roles onscreen in the ‘80s and ‘90s, veteran character actress Flora Gasser passed away last weekend as confirmed by her family on social media. Her cause of death was not made public. Her wake was held at the St. Peter's Chapel Commonwealth in Quezon City until November 22.

Flora’s passing was announced last weekend by her granddaughter Sarah Aguinaldo. She wrote, “Rest in God's arms, Lola Flora. Mahal ka po namin. I know magkakasama na kayo ni Mommy and Lolo dyan sa taas.

“Thank you for being the funny and caring, Lola. You will be missed. I'm sorry hindi ako naka abot magbigay ulit ng pang granola and milk mo like the last time

“I will always be proud na may lola akong artista hehe.”

Flora was married to veteran RPN9 news anchor Harry Gasser who passed away in 2014. Flora’s acting career spanned over four decades. In 2020, she played the lead role in the short film Nene which is the story of a retired painter and her attempt to finish the final painting of her lifetime. The film has since been part of over a dozen film festivals abroad has already won international recognition.
