“Naalala ko year 2010, 2009, I had a project with Jeffrey Jeturian called Reputasyon on ABS-CBN. And then I was also doing The Other Woman for Star Cinema and Viva. And then obviously everyday ako nagwo-work nu’n.

Meningitis is an inflammation (swelling) of the protective membranes covering the brain and spinal cord. A bacterial or viral infection of the fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord usually causes the swelling.

“Nagkombulsyon ako habang nagte-taping. They rushed me to the hospital. I stayed in the hospital for almost a month.

“So I was thinking... they couldn’t find out what’s going on with me. So they had to get like a water thing sa spine ko to examine the water in my brain. Then yon nga, they found out Meningitis and it’s deadly,” pagbabalik-tanawa pa ni AA (palayaw ni Cristine).

“So, parang ako nag-pray na ako kay God no’n. Sabi ko, ‘I can’t die. I wanna live.’ Kasi sa hospital di ba sa bed mo yung wall laging may crucifix? Merong crucifix doon.

“I remember... parang I think I was fighting for my life, ‘I can’t die.’ Even though I was super weak... super weak,” lahad pa ng aktres nabida sa Pinoy adaptation ng hit Korean series na Encounter na napapanood sa TV5 at mapapanood na rin sa Vivamax sa July 23.

“And then, I guess after a week of fighting for my life, lumakas ako bigla. Tapos ayon, parang angs abi lang ng mga doctors kasi it’s really your body that will fight for itself, eh, sa mga virus na yan. So, I guess God gave me strength to fight because I asked for it and I didn’t wanna give up,” dagdag na pahayag ni Cristine.

“Yung moment na Amarah came out in this world and she held on the scissor of our doctor tightly, ‘Wow she’s born.’
