From starting out in showbiz as a contestant on Tawag ng Tanghalan five years ago to becoming welcomed into the Star Magic family this year, singer and actress Gigi De Lana said there are a lot of people who have inspired her journey along the way.

“My family at saka yung mom ko. Siya talaga. Tapos yung mga kasama ko sa band, yung management ko. Gusto ko lang mag thank you sa hard work ng team ko na banda ko kasi hindi ko naman ito magagawa [ng mag-isa]. And of course I want to thank my management sa support, maraming maraming salamat sa pagtanggap niyo and sa pagtitiwala sa akin. I did this because of you guys and thank you so much. Actually, marami ang nag-i-inspire sa akin, actually lahat ng mahal ko sa buhay, lahat ng tumutulong sa akin ngayon, they really pushed me and helped me towards my very best,” she said.

“Isa sa pinaka-important yung mga audience, yung mga viewers na nanunuod sa iyo. Kasi they are a part of you too. And hindi mo alam na nakaka-inspire ka na sa kanila, nakaka-help ka. To be honest, ang daming nanunuod sa akin na nag-me-message sa akin na they are dealing with anxiety, depression, and they even told me na my music nagbigay ng buhay sa kanila ulit. Sobrang nakakataba siya ng puso kasi I really didn’t know na nagagawa namin yun na nabibigay namin sa audience namin. Na natutulungan pala namin sila. So lahat kami push ng push talaga kami. Para sa kanila din ito and sila din kasi yung tumulong sa akin sa simula. I’m just giving back,” she explained.

When asked what is the secret to her successful journey in the industry so far, Gigi said it is all about putting in the effort. “Consistency and hard work talaga. You have to listen to your audience, kung ano yung gusto nila. And as much as we can, be as natural. Maging natural. Kung sino kami sa bahay, kung sino kami sa kaibigan namin, kung sino kami sa inyo, ganun dapat. Kasi yung totoo yung hinahanap,” she said.

“Nagsimula siya sa consistency tapos dahan dahan nag-u-upgrade ng gamit, ng skills, ng musicians, artistry. Tapos eventually napunta dun yung pagiging kami, yung kung sino kami, yung truth na nakikita, na parang kasama namin sila sa stream habang nag-la-live kami. Alam mo yung parang kabarkada lang na parang natural lang. Ito lang din yung chance na makapag-connect sa amin kasi may chat and nakakausap namin sila. Nag-work siya,” she added.
