After 18 years of being together, celebrity couple Troy Montero and Aubrey Miles revealed their wedding plans from last year and the reasons for cancelling it in the vlog “Cancelled Wedding” on their Livin’ With Troy and Aubrey channel on YouTube. “18 years we’re not married but we’re happy,” Troy said at the start of the vlog.

Aubrey admitted that for years people around them have been asking when they were planning to tie the knot. “We always say, it’s going to happen. Just because we know it’s going to happen and we’re not really in a rush. But it’s been almost two decades so last year we’re going to do it, not because we of the people asking us to  do it but because we wanted to na talaga. We were satisfied with our relationship. Everything that we want gusto namin and yung wedding is not really on our list before. Hindi talaga siya yung nasa wish list namin kapag may mga list sa relationship because ganun talaga kami mag-isip,” Aubrey shared.

The couple said they finally planned their wedding on their 17th year together. “Yung 17 years na yun hindi namin naisip magpakasal kasi we had so many things planned na gagawin. Yung wedding, yung ceremony parang later on but we weren’t scared to talk about it. And yung 17 years na yun, feeling lang namin, we’ve been through a lot, we’ve done so much, ano pa ba? Maybe let’s get married already! That’s why.”

Troy said he and Aubrey did not want to have a huge wedding. The couple said they were supposed to get married in Batanes.

“That’s my dream place. It was going to happen on April 23, 2020. We were going to stay in this nice hotel in the middle of the cliff. It’s a rock hotel. Yun yung mga plano. Meron na kaming wedding planner there and photographer, may video, and ang mag-we-wed sa amin dun dapat yung mayor ng Batanes,” they shared.

There were only 10 people on the guest list composed of their closest family members. “We were going to be married in this grassy field overlooking the ocean. So it was going to be very picturesque [while] hoping it doesn’t rain but it was going to be great,” Troy added.

They moved the wedding two months later to July only to have to cancel it again due to the ongoing pandemic. The couple also showed their followers the wedding bands they ordered from Hong Kong more than a year ago. “I feel bad because also we ordered the wedding bands which is right here. By the way, wala kaming engagement ring because we went straight to the point (laughs). We picked this out January,” Aubrey revealed.

On her Instagram account last June 4, Aubrey shared their recent vlog about the cancelled wedding, “After 18years of being together🏻‍♀️🤵‍♂️ Everything you want to know what really happened and why we’re not yet married. If everyone’s getting engaged and married, our wedding JUST GOT CANCELLED! Here’s the real story”

Before ending the vlog, Troy shared his thoughts on possibly having a civil ceremony while waiting for the situation to become safe again to have their dream destination wedding.

“I think before I was against it just because that’s not what I wanted. I wanted one time to get married but on our own terms, a very, very small and intimate wedding. For me, we waited how long already and I was thinking we don’t need to do a civil wedding. Everyone has their own reason for getting married and for us I was thinking we don’t need to do a civil during the pandemic. But now that I think about it, maybe, maybe there’s a chance. I think it could possibly happen to have a civil wedding,” Troy admitted.
