MG Live! is holding a special online event entitled Salubong: The Christmas Concert which will be streamed via KTX.ph on December 10 and December 11, 2021. This one-of-a-kind Christmas concert brings together top OPM artists from different musical genres including urban/hip-hop star CLR, rock quartet Sponge Cola, the legendary Aegis band, and breakthrough spoken word artist Martin Naling.

“To be able to perform na ganito kalaki yung scale, it’s a blessing and we’re really thankful and we’re really happy that we’re part of this. At saka like most Filipinos, ang dami ko ring relatives abroad. So in a way para ko silang mabibisita. Parang 80% ata ng mother’s side ko nasa California eh,” shared Sponge Cola frontman Yael Yuzon during the Salubong mediacon.

Pinoy hip-hop artist CLR said he looks forward to showcasing his unique brand of music at the event. “Talagang fiesta siya kung iisipin mo. Fiesta ng mga artist na iba’t ibang putahe. Parang ganun yung take ko dun.” As one of the country’s fast rising hip-hop talents today, CLR’s various performances on the Wish Bus 107.5 have a combined view of almost 87M views to date.

Aegis vocalist Juliet Sunot promised another fun night with their longtime and new fans in the virtual concert. “Kakantahan namin kayo ng Christmas Bonus!” she said. Even though the band admitted they went through a lot of challenges last year since they are used to doing live shows, they are now ready to bring their brand of high energy online this time for the year-ender concert.

Spong Cola lead guitarist Erwin Armovit summed up what audiences can expect on December 10 and 11 when they buy tickets from KTX.ph. “Actually what I like about this lineup and this handog is para siyang handaan, it’s like a musical equivalent of a feast. Ang Filipinos pag gatherings pag Christmas or fiesta talagang kanya-kanyang baon, may kanya-kanyang ambag sa table so para siyang Noche Buena of music na iba-ibang genre. Yun yung fun dun kasi ang lawak ng experience natin so everybody has their own story, iba-ibang genre which we all love and it’s all part of the experience. So ang lawak ng range. It’s not one sound all throughout, it’s a little bit of this, a little bit of that, and a little bit of everything and everybody,” he added.
