Even though they already shared a close relationship ever since they started dating in 2019, actor Enzo Pineda said he and girlfriend Michelle Vito have a deeper and more mature connection now because of what happened last year.

“Tingin ko mas naging close kami because of the pandemic and mas naging stronger yung relationship namin in a sense na mas naging mature especially lalo na ako kasi before I used to go out a lot. Now, because of the pandemic, there’s been a change of perspective, iba na rin yung mga priorities ko in life. And because of Michelle and her family, hindi naman sa sinasabi kong wala ako sa tamang daan, pero I like who I am right now because of the pandemic and of course dahil kay Michelle,” he told PUSH in an exclusive interview.

The couple, who celebrated Enzo’s graduation as a PH Navy reservist traning earlier this year, first started dating after working together on the ABS-CBN drama Nang Ngumiti Ang Langit in 2019. Enzo admitted he knew Michelle wasn’t really into him when they first met.

“Hindi niya talaga ako type dati. Isa sa mga list ng suitors niya. So nagkataon na isa ako sa pinaka-persistent, loving, caring (laughs),” he jokingly said.

The couple also count themselves lucky that no one in their family has gone through any major health scares during the past year. “Meron lang the usual high blood sa family, mga ganun. Pero nothing critical kumbaga,” Enzo added.

Although the celebrity couple said they have a loving and easygoing relationship, Enzo revealed his biggest challenge is when it comes to finding the right gifts for Michelle.

“Usually yung mga gift ko sa kanya, bihira ako makatama eh (laughs). So hopefully sa Christmas magustuhan niya yung gift na ibibigay ko sa kanya. Pero nung birthday niya okay naman. Pero may mga times na magbibigay ako ng bag pero wrong size pala. So hopefully sa mga experience ko, mas maganda na and makukuha ko yung gifts na magugustuhan niya,” he shared.
