Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez and her longtime girlfriend, DJ and businesswoman Kate Jagdon, have broken up.

Kate herself confirmed the sad news through an Instagram Stories update on Tuesday, November 23.

"These past few weeks have been the most difficult time of my personal life. It was a conscious decision to keep quiet, after all this is a personal matter and I chose my privacy above everything else," she said.

"I don't want to say anything more that fits anyone's situation. This statement will be short before rumors and falsifications get out of hand. Bea and I have parted ways. I am simply taking this step to move forward ang go on with my life. Nothing more," she continued.

Rumors of the couple's split have been around since October, but resurfaced this week after Bea failed to mention Kate in a recent interview about her mother not being able to go to the 2021 Miss Universe PH grand coronation night held in Bohol last September.

“Dun sa Bohol, where the pageant was held, only my sister lang and my friend was able to go. Hindi nakapunta 'yung mom ko," said Bea, without mentioning her girlfriend despite photos of Kate attending the event.

Bea and Kate dated for nearly seven years.

The 26-year-old beauty queen first admitted that she had a girlfriend during the question and answer portion of the 2020 Binibining Cebu pageant, which she eventually won.

When asked what makes her beautiful, she said, “I guess what makes me beautiful is my bravery and being true to myself. To tell you guys honestly, I have a girlfriend, I have tattoos, and I’m very proud of my imperfections. I guess that’s what makes me beautiful."
The Cebuana beauty also proudly talked about being in a same-sex relationship in her introduction for the virtual interview challenge of the 2021 Miss Universe PH, for which she made rounds online.

“I love sports and my favorite game is volleyball and when I have free time, I go to the beach. I go scuba diving and when I want to spice up my workouts, I do a few rounds of boxing,” she said.

“I do most of these things with my girlfriend Kate. We’ve been together for six years, going seven in a few months,” she continued.

Meanwhile, in her statement, Kate also expressed her gratitude to her family and friends for "holding my hand during this difficult time."

"I know you will continue to do so as I take the road to healing," she said.

Saying she wants to go forward "with love and respect", the DJ-entrepreneur also wished Bea the "best of luck in her journey."

Finally, she said: "At this moment, please respect my privacy and this will be the last time I will address the issue. Thank you."
