"Ito na 'yun."

This is what Arjo Atayde said as he admitted that he already sees his girlfriend, Maine Mendoza, as "the one."

The actor made the admission when he opened up about his and Maine's future plans in an interview with Julius Babao for the latter's vlog.

When asked if he and the actress are already discussing marriage, Arjo said: "Yes, of course, napag-uusapan 'yan. I'm at the right age. We're not getting any younger. And we're both very happy. Hopefully until we get old.

"Ito na po 'yun," he then said. "Sobrang mahal ko po 'yung tao, eh."

Arjo then explained what he sees in Maine that makes him believe she is the one.

"Very hard to explain how a person can be unique the way you see them. But to me, she's a very loving person, mabuti ang puso niya. That's also very hard to find, 'yung sincerity. And grabe magmahal," he said.

"But 'yun po, hindi ko po ma-explain," he continued. "Grabe po, eh. It's a different way of... iba po, eh. I'm overwhelmed with the way I love her and she loves me back. It's a different understanding. I think I found a best friend [and] partner."

When asked if he also thinks that Maine is his soulmate, Arjo said: "Yes. Whatever adjective it may be, yes."

Speaking of marriage, Julius also quizzed the actor if he agrees that Maine is housewife material.

"I'll give her that option but that's her choice," Arjo simply responded.

Arjo and Maine have been dating for more than two years.

They first admitted they were "exclusively dating" back in January 2019. Months later, in December 2019, the two finally confirmed being officially a couple, as they greeted each other on their first anniversary together.

In an interview in February 2020, Arjo admitted that he already sees himself spending the rest of his life with Maine.

Meanwhile, during his conversation with Julius, Arjo also shared how Maine reacted to his decision to dabble in politics.

The 30-year-old actor is running for congressman of Quezon City's first district in the 2022 elections. He filed his certificate of candidacy last week.

"To be honest, nung una medyo ano siya, kasi alam naman niyang magulo ang mundo ng pulitika. But I gave her my promise of course to behave, na huwag gumawa ng kalokohan sa loob. And that my will is just to serve nang tapat," he said.

"And being the girlfriend, she is, like I said, she [is supportive], pero ayaw ko lang siya malapit kasi medyo magulo," he added.

According to Arjo, Maine's family was also supportive of his decision to join politics.

"Her family naman din po is supportive, of course. Ayaw lang makisama pero knowing that they are supportive, my family's supportive, of course, it's my battle, eh. I just want everything, gusto ko lang maayos 'yung mga bagay bagay na pwede kong ayusin at alam kong kaya kong ayusin, without having anyone involving me anymore. And, you know, having them beside me, supporting, is good enough for me to go with this race," he said.
