In her Instagram post last January 10, Maxene shared what drives her to practice yoga every day, even during times when she is not feeling motivated to do it.. She wrote, “What a beautiful blessing it is just to be alive. Every moment is a miracle. Every breath is a gift.
“I was supposed to skip my morning yoga practice today due to laziness but decided to power through and do it. As usual, I felt amazing and enlivened afterwards. I’m so glad I didn’t listen to my lower mind which was trying to convince me to just stay in bed. Instead, I tapped into my higher consciousness and became firm with my decision to practice.
“Every time I practice, I always have an overwhelming feeling of gratitude afterwards. My heart gets filled with so much joy and luminosity that I just can’t help but thank God for breathing life into me. When I take the time to connect to my inner world, I feel God within my soul. And then I realize that I don’t need anything else.
“My practice has given me a whole new way of looking at the world with fresh and twinkling eyes. Nature has become so magical. Animals are our friends. Human beings are all the same. I am one with the universe.”
Maxene is the eldest daughter of the late Francis Magalona and Pia Magalona. She married model Robbie Mananquil in 2018. She and her husband completed their first yoga teacher training course in 2019.
