Almost six months since she gave birth to her third daughter Rosie, Regine Tolentino admitted it was one of the most stressful times in her life since it happened right when the country was put under national lockdown. “I’ve never been so scared in my life because Dondi (Narciso) and I were going in and out of the hospital every day since March for checkups kasi gustong gusto ko na manganak and hindi pa ready, hindi pa nag-da-dilate or whatever. We were so scared everyday going in and out of the hospital because baka ma-contract namin ang virus somehow with all the people who were checking me and touching me and the places we were going to,” she sharec during her Radiance C virtual media event held last September 5.

The 41-year-old celebrity mom said she still remembers the whole experience very vividly because it was a very stressful time in the country. “Because even yung frontliners na makikita mo, not just the medical, pati sila takot, pati sila praning, pati sila nagkakagulo so it was a struggle because we were all experiencing the whole thing together and nangangapa pa lahat and everybody wasn’t really sure how to handle it properly with everything. But we just made sure that we were very careful and that we were together all the time and just being overly careful by having the proper PPEs, the face masks and just not touching things and staying away and staying home as much as possible,” she said.

When she finally went into labor last March 17, Regine said her fears worsened. “Nung nanganak ako talagang it was a struggle to stay calm because my mind was like exploding with all these possibilities of what could happen to me, my child, and us being in the hospital at this very scary time for everybody. We handled it as best we could. Nakatulong support from family, friends, and prayers from everybody na makauwi kami agad. We just had to deal with it. We adjusted and prayed a lot and na-overcome din namin yung mga struggles. A lot of tears along the way but it was something that made our relationship stronger as a family,” she said.

The new Radiance C celebrity ambassador said that her new baby Rosie is a wonderful addition to their family. “Life with a new baby is absolutely amazing and I’m doing great. I’m feeling back to normal again after five and a half months of adjusting to being a mom again after so many years kaya masayang masaya kami. The house is full of joy and life is good.

“Being a quarantine mom is actually a blessing. It was a silver lining through all of this chaos because I had the privilege of spending every minute of every day with this little one and it was so much fun and I had a great time just relearning my instincts of being a mom and enjoying it because I love being a mom. I love taking care of my babies. Nanibago talaga ako kasi isipin mo my bunso is 19 years old so it’s been almost two decades since my last pregnancy so I didn’t know what the gadgets are now, kung ano na uso na parenting style so I really had to go through that whole relearning experience by watching videos, calling my friends and doing my research. The rest naman was instinct so you learn as you go. Na-enjoy ko sobra yung process.

“Nakabuti sa akin yung pagiging quarantine mom because I didn’t need a yaya. It was just me, Dondi and the kids who are taking good care of Rosie girl and she’s growing up healthy and strong and happy and she’s just the light of our lives and she brings so much sunshine into the family. It’s just a blessing in disguise for us and it just became the reason for us to stay positive and to stay bonded and just be happy all the time because we have her. Ang saya saya. Ang sarap sarap (laughs),” she added.
