Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. has been cleared to leave his isolation room following weeks of strict quarantine at home, he said on Thursday, September 3 in a Facebook post.
"Just today, my doctors advised me that I can already go out of my isolation room. After over a month, I can finally be with my family na walang pangamba whatsoever," said Bong.
"Thank you, Lord for Your healing and grace in helping me get through this. Di ko din alam paano ko ito malalampasan without all of you," he added.
It was on August 9 when Bong announced that he contracted the novel coronavirus, making him the fourth senator to test positive for COVID-19.
A week later, Bong was rushed to the hospital after he developed pneumonia, according to his wife, Mayor Lani Mercado.
He was cleared for discharge from the hospital on August 24 and continued his treatment at home.
Aside from Bong, Senators Sonny Angara, Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel III, and Juan Miguel Zubiri also contracted COVID-19 in March. All three senators have recuperated.
