Almost six years after performing together as the group known as IV of Spades, the Filipino rock band announced they were taking a break, as shared on the band’s official social media accounts last August 21. Currently composed of band members vocalist, bassist and keyboardist Zild Benitez, vocalist and lead guitarist Blaster Silonga, and vocalist and drummer Badjao de Castro, the band, who is distinguished by their pop funk musical style and 1970s-inspired outfits, first gained exposure with the release of their 4th single "Mundo" released in 2018.

On their official Instagram account, the band shared the news while giving an update on their status while doing quarantine. They wrote, “Hello. The three of us are still fine and alive. The band decided that we’ll be having a break from all the things that we’ve been doing together for the past few years.” The group also gave the reason behind their recent decision after performing together since they were first formed in 2014. “We will be busy pursuing some other personal interests and take a needed time off as a band. There are no plans to release anything or perform for the time being. With that being said, there are more things out there that we should pay attention to and remember that living itself is a blessing.”
