Kim Chiu celebrated the birthday of her sister Lakam on Tuesday, August 18, amid the modified enhanced community quarantine due to the coronavirus pandemic.

On Instagram, the actress shared photos of the surprise celebration she prepared for Lakam, captioned with her touching birthday message for her sister.

“To my number one critic, my number one fan, my superwoman sissy HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” she said.

“It may be a different birthday for you this year, I know it is hard these past few days. We can do this together. We gained another angel in heaven. Especially you na pilangga kaayo ka ni ama,” she added.

The sisters recently lost their “amah” or grandmother, Francisca Chiu.

They announced her passing last Sunday, August 9.

In her message, Kim also thanked Lakam for always being there for her.

“Achi, thank you is not enough for everything that you do for us, especially for me. We’ve been on this journey together from the start. Thank you for sticking by my side and not leaving me—most of all, for thinking for me when I don’t want to think anymore. Being my shield and protector, for always being the first one to pick me up every time I almost fall. Thank you for giving me hope,” she wrote.

Describing Lakam as the “pillar of our family,” Kim said, “We are strong because of you!”

“We love you, achi! I hope we made you happy today with our little surprise! Wishing you good health always!!!! Love you!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUPERWOMAN KAM CHIU!!!! Lucky to have you as my sissy!!!!” she added.

Aside from Lakam, Kim has two other known siblings—Wendolyn and John Paul.
