Toni Gonzaga admitted that she has been hurting as her colleagues and friends at ABS-CBN have started saying goodbye following the network's retrenchment program. The media giant announced on July 15 that it will be laying off its employees after the House committee denied it a new franchise.

You may have the power now but it will not be forever. " she posted on her Instagram page on Saturday, July 18.

She also pointed out that "no matter who the president is," Jesus is still "king and He is the name above all names."

You may have the power now but it will not be forever. I believe that no matter who the president is, JESUS is still KING and He is the name above ALL names. We will continue to keep our faith in Christ that He will sustain us during these trying times. Just like the positions of the people in power today, what we are going through will not last forever. Troubles come to pass, they don’t stay. Jesus said, when you go through deep waters I will be with you. One day He wipe these tears away and replace it with JOY beyond compare. 🙏🏼 Babangon tayong lahat muli.🙏🏼 #yakapkapamiya❤️💚💙

Toni also offered a prayer for those who have been heavily impacted by the shutdown of ABS-CBN, saying that a painful moment like this shall pass.

We will continue to keep our faith in Christ that He will sustain us during these trying times. Just like the positions of the people in power today, what we are going through will not last forever," she said.

Toni then clarified that her statement is not meant to put the blame on people in position but to remind them that God reigns supreme.

"This is a reminder to us that no matter who is in position. Jesus is still the King of Kings. This is to remind our kapamilyas, there is hope. There’s still tomorrow. We will not forget what the people who have power did to us and we respect their decision with all humility," she wrote.

"As one we will also continue to stand up for our company who gave us so many opportunities to help our families. We don’t know what the future will bring. But we know, God is holding us in the palm of His hands," she stated.
