Dimples Romana released a new song dedicated to her daughter, Callie, who turned 17 last Sunday, December 13.

The touching tune, "Si Nanay Maghihintay", which was released digitally with an accompanying music video, was composed by the actress herself and produced by Jeff Hernandez.

"Sumulat ako ng kanta para kay Callie. Sinimulan ko nung Babaylan Gloria ako sa 'Bagani'," said Dimples in a behind-the-scenes video she posted on Instagram.

"Parang na-senti ako. It was around that time na we decided na, sige, suportahan namin 'yung pangarap niya na makapag-aral siya sa ibang bansa ng pagpipiloto. So I kept it, and then two years later this is when I realized na I wanted to hear it and I wanted to make a music video out of it," she added.

Dimples said Callie cried the first time she heard the song.

"Umiyak siya. She didn't know it was a song for her. I actually just played it to her and I said, 'Tell me what you think about it.' Doon sa mga kalagitnaan, na-realize niya na kanta 'yun para sa kanya," she said.

"Tuwing maririnig niya 'yung kanta, parang first time niya laging naririnig kasi lagi siyang umiiyak," she continued. "Parang 'di ko rin kayang tanungin siya bakit siya naiiyak. Nirerespeto ko na lang 'yung mga luha niya. Iniisip ko, baka 'yun talaga 'yung nararamdaman niya towards the song."

According to Dimples, her wish is to give her daughter the freedom to choose whichever path she wants to take, which is why she continues to work hard despite already having saved up enough for her family.

"I remember Callie asking me three years ago why I still keep working kahit na papaano nakapag-ipon na kami. Sabi niya, 'Mommy, why are you still working? Why are you and Daddy are still working very hard?' And I stopped and I thought, 'Bakit nga ba?' Eh meron naman na kaming sapat. Pero na-realize ko na gusto ko kasi maibigay ko sa anak ko 'yung gift of choice. That she is able to choose the path that she wants to take. That she doesn't have to think about me, or si Daddy niya, or kapatid niya. Kung ano 'yung kaya at hindi kaya. Gusto ko maibigay kay Callie 'yung gift ng desisyon na magawa niya [kung ano ang gusto niya]," she said.

"Kung mahanap niya 'yung happines niya and mabubuo siya as a person without us by her side all the time, at least physically, I think I'm okay with that," she went on. "Kasi I want her happy, eh. I want my children to be happy. I just want them to be able to do what they want to do. I think it's a gift that not everybody has."

"'Yun ang the best gift sa isang magulang, 'yung makita mong maging masaya 'yung anak mo," she added.
