Heart Evangelista responded to a netizen who questioned whether or not she extended help to those affected by the recent typhoons that hit the country.

In a now-deleted tweet, the netizen wrote: “Sorry di ko ata nakita pero nagbukas na ba ng wallet si Heart Evangelista? La lang cure use lang (sic).”

To which Heart responded: “The camera doesn’t need to be ‘on’ for you to help.”

She then corrected the netizen for writing “cure use” instead of “curious,” saying: “Also, curious dapat.”

Another netizen pointed out that Heart should not help in secret in order to encourage other people considering the number of followers she has on social media.

“But the thing is, you have a huge number of followers and fans. this is not the time to ‘help in secret.’ show people that you're helping. encourage others to do the same,” the netizen wrote.

Heart then wrote back: It’s ok to create awareness. It’s ok to help get the word out but my points in heaven are far more important to me than likes on IG - this is my personal choice - now let’s get back to retweeting.”

While there were those who questioned Heart’s ability to help, there were others who shared their first-hand experience with how Heart helped them in one way or another.

“I was the one that you helped po here in Sorsogon to rescue the dog of our neighbor from the city pound. You even rescued 4 more dogs. I will be forever grateful for the immediate action that you did po. Dios Mabalos po sa mabuoton na 1st lady kang Sorsogon,” the netizen with username @IndieMallorca wrote.

Heart then responded by saying: “It was a hard day at the pound but it was worth it. Thank you for messaging me. I was able to get 3 more dogs after that ;) all have wonderful homes now.”

A netizen whose life Heart has personally touched then defended her by sharing a testimony about how she witnessed how good the soul of the latter is.

The netizen wrote: “Tito Pete and our family are a testament of how good your soul is, Ms. Heart. Please don’t let these bashers get you. Mas ok na yung maraming natulungan off-screen kesa sa mga nagpapabango lang sa social media. God bless you always!”

She then quoted the tweet and wrote: “After all, we are just instruments of God. Glory be to him!”

Heart has since auctioned off a hand-painted dress designed by fashion designer Mark Bumgarner to raise funds for the victims of the typhoon.

“I’ll be auctioning this lovely Filipiñana made by Mark Bumgarner and hand painted by me check @shopmaisonlovemarie on IG for more details. All proceeds will go to those affected by the typhoon,” she wrote.

Heart was able to raise 20,000 from the auction and she plans to auction off even more items to raise money.
