With her role as the newly engaged Q in the upcoming digital series The House Arrest of Us, Kathryn Bernardo said she immediately said yes to the project when it was first offered. “Actually, nung sinabi siya sa amin pa lang, nag-yes agad kami kasi ito yung matagal na namin gusto gawin, yung light, feel good, family, ito yung kailangan natin mapanuod ngayon and ito yung binigay sa amin with this beautiful team na nakasama namin. So walang dahilan to say no. Ito yung kailangan ng mga tao ngayon eh para pampasaya para maaliw lang sila. So we’re glad we said yes kasi napakalapit nitong proyekto na ito sa amin especially during this time,” she shares.

In her much-awaited project reuniting her with Daniel Padilla, Kathryn admitted doing lock-in taping for the series has made them discover something new about themselves. “Siguro kung gaano kami pinapasaya ng food (laughs). Kasi kilala na namin ang isa’t isa for eight years. Pareho kasi kami na pag magtatrabaho, trabaho. Pero pag lunch time, kapag dinner time, importante sa amin ang pagkain. Kasi dun natin kinukuha yung energy natin di ba? So I think hindi lang sa amin yun kundi sa buong cast. Food makes us happy so yun. I think over the years familiar na kami ni DJ sa isa’t isa so kung may mga new discoveries kami, that would be for the other cast and yung mga nakatrabaho namin. Basta kami, kilalang kilala na niya ako and kilalang kilala ko na siya,” she explained.

During the recent press launch for The House Arrest of Us, Kathryn also admitted that she would not be opposed to DJ being paired with other actresses in future projects. “Honestly, ayoko maging selfish na ipagkait given yung opportunity na yun. Kung dumating yung time na may offer sa kanya. Don’t close your door. Hindi natin alam eh. Kasi ang dami kong gusto makatrabaho. Ang daming plans and projects para sa amin. And kung gusto niya, I will support him and I will respect his decision. So kung paano yung suporta na binigay niya sa akin sa last project ko, ganun din ang ibibigay ko sa kanya,” she said.

The 24-year-old actress said that no matter what is portrayed onscreen, she is confident with the strength of their relationship in real life. “At the end of the day, decision niya yun. Nandito lang kami as number one fan. Ang importante is sa real life kung paano kami and kung may chance na may makatrabaho siyang iba, I will respect that decision,” she added.

The House Arrest of Us also stars Riva Quenery, Anthony Jennings, Alora Sasam, Ruffa Gutierrez, Herbert Bautista, Dennis Padilla, Arlene Muhlach, and Gardo Versoza. It will start airing on October 24 on KTX.ph and will also be available on iWantTFC.
