Currently playing the female villain in the first Philippine iflix Original film Mystified, Sunshine Cruz admitted she had fun playing evil witch Hellga who makes life difficult for good witches Karylle, Iza Calzado, Sunshine Dizon, and Diana Zubiri in the new fantasy film now available online. “For me kasi kahit ano naman just as long as the role is challenging or it’s different. Binulungan naman ako ni direk na meron kaming peg for the character and I think naman nagawa ko namanang na-satisfy naman si direk Mark Reyes,” she told PUSH.

The talented actress said her role as Hellga was a fun kind of villain. “Kasi I’ve done goody-goody roles for the longest time. Laging mabait so this is really challenging for me and very different. Maarte yung role. Sabi ko nga, this isn’t just kontrabida na bad but I’m very, very flirty, maarte dito. It’s really a different kind of role,” she said.

Off camera, Sunshine said she is actually not as high maintenance. “Well of course I love dressing up and siyempre kapag humaharap tayo sa camera gusto natin laging maayos so yung ganung klase ng arte lang pero I don’t know pero parang mas kikay naman sa akin yung three kids ko and mas magaling pa sila maglagay ng makeup sa akin (laughs). Kasi ako, honestly hindi ako marunong maglagay ng makeup and I need a makeup artist. And I don’t even own a blow dryer at home. So talagang if you will see my pictures sa bahay, palaging basa ang buhok ko kasi hindi talaga ako nag-bo-blow dry ng buhok (laughs),” she revealed.

As a single mom raising her teen daughters Angelina Isabelle, Samantha Angeline and Angel Franchesca, Sunshine hopes her kids will know how to be genuine and professional at work. “I told them to just to always be themselves. Gaya ng if ang call time sa trabaho is 6 pm, andun na ako before 6 pm. And sabi ko sa mga kids ko, ‘That is why si mommy laging may project because I see to it that I am professional. So kayo, pag nagkaroon kayo ng trabaho, make sure that you’re always on time because it really means a lot na maging professional tayo,’” she shared.
