While preparing for the upcoming concert titled SoulJa, King of R&B Jay-R recalled an incident where a new artist told him that the latter would be more famous than him someday.

“Nung nasa kabila ako dati, may bagong artist, very young guy, nag-a-R&B din. Yung handler ko, she introduced me to this new artist. She said, ‘Hey, I want you to meet this new guy, he’s a fan of yours and he wants to make it in the industry.’ So nag-usap kami.

“Sa handshake pa lang, parang competitive na kaagad. Tapos unang-una niyang sinabi sa akin was like, ‘Hey man, are you Jay-R? Yeah, I’m going to be more famous than you.’ Ang sabi ko na lang, ‘Yeah it’s nice to meet you.’ Tapos nung binalikan ko (after years), parang wala naman.” he said.

Jaya as one of Tawag Ng Tanghalan judges, shared her observation of the contestants of the It’s Showtime singing competition, saying that five of every 100 contestants can be arrogant. “I’ll be honest na lang. Kunyare na lang sa TNT, hindi pa nga kilala, e havey na ang attitude. Pati ako minsan dinadaan-daanan lang.

On the other hand, The Voice runner-up Jason Dy shared what he learned from working with long-time artists like Jaya and Jay-R. “I noticed in my very short time in the industry (three years na) kung sino pa yung mga sobrang sikat, sila pa yung sobrang mababait. Walang arte, walang attitude. So I learned from that.”
