After more than four decades in showbiz, Snooky Serna said it’s time for her to level up when it comes to deciding what kind of roles she would really love to portray in her next projects. “I would love to do a film that would incite people siguro to empower themselves, something that is quite political. Not too much of love stories, not too much of the comedy, rom-com, but about the harsher realities of this life. This is a beautiful world that we are living in but then again because of human reaction, we turn this into a not-so-pleasant place to live in. Sometimes it can be like that so I would like to be part of a project like that na parang may mas malalim na gustong i-impart sa tao. Something that has to do with change, to incite positive change in society,” she told PUSH.

The 51-year-old actress admitted she is ready to move on from her former teen idol image during her younger years. “I’m not trying to be highbrow pero yun yung gusto ko talaga. Kasi parang na-ta-typecast ako on love love, fantasy or pa-cutie cutie lang. Para gusto ko naman mas may substance. I don’t mean to offend anyone and I’m grateful for the blessing of work but siguro yun yung phase na gusto ko naman,” she explained.

Currently happy dating a former politician, Snooky shared her plans of going behind the camera for a change. “I’m hoping to be able to produce this year something that has to do with yung mga bata natin sa lansangan, the street children. Para sa kapakanan ng mga kabataan natin. I hope sana matuloy,” she shared.
