As far as actor Enchong Dee is concerned, he doesn’t need to prove himself to anyone in terms of his sexual preference despite the leak of an alleged 10-second sex scandal purportedly involving him and YouTube sensation Sebastian Castro.

Fresh from an Asian family vacation, the 24-year-old actor who was cast in the upcoming family drama soap titled You’re My Home addressed all the intrigues that have been going around while he was away.

While Sebastian had already denied the existence of the said sex tape via his Twitter account, Enchong had yet to speak about the issue in detail. “Sabi ko as far as I can remember hindi ako ‘yung taong klase na mahilig mag-record ng ganyan,” he started during the press event for You’re My Home held at the 9501 restaurant in ABS-CBN.

According to Enchong, he’s ironically “excited” to see the supposed sex tape because, “Gusto kong makita kung ano ba ang ibig sabihin nung scandal because as far as I can remember a scandal is something that you’re not proud of. So sabi ko, wala naman akong naaalala na ginawa ko na I’m not proud of.”

A few days after the issue first broke out—when he was still on vacation, Enchong posted a sarcastic tweet challenging whoever was spreading the video to post it. “Astig, may video scandal pala ako?? Paki post naman para mapakita ko sa magulang ko habang nasa bakasyon kami…bilis ang daming naghahantay,” he wrote.

According to the former Muling Buksan Ang Puso star, he posted the tweet “kasi nga whatever it is I’m not scared na anytime lalabas siya because I’m not the kind of person who does that.”

While he had been nothing but blasé about answering questions, halfway through the interview, Enchong wasn’t able to mask his dismay about being dragged into the issue. “Hindi ako nao-offend na may ganong issue, nao-offend ako na ganon ba kababa ang tingin sa akin ng mga tao na ganong klaseng tao ang kasama ko sa isang video scandal,” he lamented.

Although he claimed that he doesn’t know Sebastian personally, he nevertheless offered an apology to him and took a swipe at those who are spreading the rumor, saying that: “…Pasensya na and at the same sa mga taong naglalabas hindi ko akalain na ganon kababa ang tingin niyo sa akin.”

Has his family reacted on the latest controversy? “Tiwala kasi sila Mama sa akin eh. Tsaka sabi ko rin, ‘You don’t have to worry about anything because hindi ako ‘yun, hindi ‘yon ‘yung anak ninyo,’” he assured them.

While he doesn’t have any idea as to who may have started the controversy, Enchong theorized that his wide-ranging exposure off late could be the reason why he’s been the target of malicious rumors. “Meron akong isang conclusion, again hindi naman po sa nagmamayabang pero automatic kasi na dahil sa dami ng ginagawa ko ngayon I’m the first one na maiisip ng mga tao na ilagay sa mga ganong klase ng intriga. But hindi nga ako masyado ng affected doon eh, it’s more of a compliment actually because ako ‘yung unang nasa utak ng mga tao,” he related.

For what it’s worth, Enchong underscored that he doesn’t mind all the sexual orientation intrigues that are being thrown his way. “I’m not really offended and I’m not really worried about it kasi sabi ko ang tagal tagal ko ng nandito bakit puro ganon lang,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Enchong said he feels somewhat vindicated that he’s blessed to be part of a new show amid all the intrigues. “I don’t know it’s another blessing, sabi nga nila habang may dumarating na may magandang bagay na dumarating sa atin, hindi mo maaalis na may mga pangit na bagay rin na dumarating sa atin.

“So ito, isa siguro ito sa mga pambawi sa buhay ko na dahil andami-daming intriga na naglalabasan, siguro ito ‘yung pambawi ng Diyos na sinasabi na ‘Wag kang mag-alala meron naman akong regalo sa yo’ and I’m happy with that gift,” he said about his upcoming new soap.

You’re My Home will star Enchong along with Dawn Zulueta, Richard Gomez, Shaina Magdayao, Ella Cruz, Francis Magundayao, Iza Calzado, and Cherry Pie Picache and is slated to air by next year.
