“Kasi si Zsa Zsa nakatrabaho ko siya bago pa niya nakatrabaho ang daddy kasi nagmo-model ako nung time na 'yun. Nakasama ko siya sa isang show," pagbabahagi ni Eric.

“Of course, flattering 'yun. Ang sa akin kasi talaga, kami ni Zsa Zsa we’re really good friends. Kasi hanggang ngayon pagka may mga desisyon na ginagawa sa buhay at sa pamilya, I still consult her,” pagre-recall ni Eric.

Patuloy pa niya: “Hindi nawawala yung communication namin kasi 'yung dalawa niyang anak, kapatid ko. So pagka merong mga decision-making about family matters, kasama pa rin ako. Masaya rin ako sa personal life niya ngayon.”

Nang mapunta ang kwentuhan namin about his love life ay napangiti lang si Eric. Nakausap ng PUSH si Eric sa grand launch ng mga baguhang artists ng Net 25 kung saan si Eric ang head.

“Ang love life pag meron, mereon. Pag wala, wala. Sometimes meron, sometimes wala,” matipid niyang pahayag.

“The reason why I came back dto sa Pilipinas is yung daddy ko pinabalik ako. Pinagdirek niya ako ng show. Sa ngayon dito na ako base,” sabi pa niya.

“I wanna have kids. Alam mo parang nasa pamilya namin 'yun, na… Kasi walang nagpakasal sa mga kapatid ko. Si Vandolph lang 'yung…," aniya.

“I guess we grow up na ganun ang sitwasyon namin. So, parang siguro parang ganun din kami. Kasi ang isang relatioinshiop nag-uumpisa naman 'yan kapag nagsasama kayo, may respeto, so parang nakakalimutan na 'yung sakramento ng kasal," dagdag pa niya.

“And sometimes, bago dumating sa punto na gusto ng magpakasal we fall out of love, maraming ganung kaso, eh. But now, ito munang mga kids ko,” katwiran pa niya, referring to the 31 young artists of Star Center ng Net 25.

“Yes, I will allow them. Depende, of course, just like any management, aalamin muna namin yung role, kung maganda ba yung role, bagay ba sa kanila or sa tingin ba namin would be beneficial to their stature as actors, why not?" dagdag niya.

Pagpapatuloy pa niya: "Kunyari, ba't namin pipigilan ang mga artista namin kung makakasama nila si Coco Martin o si Dingdong Dantes? Why will I not be happy to allow them na magkaroon ng chance o opportunity ang wards namin na makatrabaho ang malalaking directors sa industry? So, puwede silang hiramin."

July 10, 2023 was the Philippine Comedy King Dolphy’s 11th death anniversary. To mark the occasion, his family got together to celebrate him.

The celebration was not limited to his real life family, though. Having been part of the industry for decades, Dolphy was also cherished by his showbiz family such as the family he formed on the set of the ABS-CBN show Home Along Da Riles.

The Cosme family, the well-loved onscreen family of Dolphy on the said show, all hold the memory of their “Tatay Dolphy” close to their hearts.

In the show, Dolphy played Kevin Cosme, whose brood of five children included Bill (played by Smokey Manaloto), Bob (played by Gio Alvarez), Bing (played by Claudine Barretto), Baldo (played by Vandolph Quizon), and Estong (played by Boy 2 Quizon). Also a mainstay was Maybelyn dela Cruz, who was the daughter of Aling Ason (played by Nova Villa).

In her Instagram post last July 11, 2023, Claudine shared a Cosme family reunion of sorts to honor Dolphy.

“11th death anniversary of Tatay Dolphy sabay reunion,” posted Claudine, tagging Gio, Maybelyn, Smokey, and Boy 2. She also mentioned that the get-together also included the show’s staff and writers.

“We luv u Tatay Kevin,” she added.

“Konti nalang complete na kami,” said Claudine in another post.

Claudine also posted a fun video with the rest of the cast, including Dolphy’s photo in the video.

In the comments section, the fans of the show also waxed nostalgic seeing the Cosme family together. For many, Home Along Da Riles was a part of their childhood and the posts brought back happy memories.

Meanwhile, ZsaZsa Padilla, who was Dolphy’s partner for many years, also took time to visit his place of rest at the Heritage Memorial Park and decorated it with flowers.

“Today is the 11th death anniversary of Dolphy,” she posted. “Please say a little prayer for him.”

Dolphy’s son, Eric Quizon, also posted a photo of himself and his dad on his social media page.

“You are remembered everyday, especially today,” he said.

Known as one of Philippine showbiz’s top heartthrobs in the 90s, Fil-Canadian actor Patrick Guzman passed away at the age of 55.

Veteran entertainment journalist Aster Amoyo confirmed the news in a Facebook post on Saturday, June 17.

She wrote: "My heartfelt condolences and prayers to the bereaved family of actor Patrick Guzman who died of [a] heart attack this morning, June 17 (Manila time) in Toronto, Canada.”

One of Patrick’s former colleagues in the industry, Eagle Riggs, remembered the late actor in his feed as he shared his fondest memories of him.

“Rest in Peace, dear Patrick Guzman. We used to work together in [ABS-CBN's] Sunday TV game show Ready Get Set Go in the 90s with Eric Quizon, Eula Valdez, [and] Michael V.," he said.

"After our show ended, we lost contact and just got reconnected again last pandemic. Sharing you our Convo as if we never said our goodbyes. Go with God PAT. You will always be in our memories," Eagle added.

Actress Beverly Vergel also shared a heartfelt tribute recalling [the] last time she took a photo with Patrick during a trip to Canada in 2019.

Beverly said the photo was taken while filming a movie where Patrick was the lead star.

She wrote: “This photo was taken at your place when Von (producer) and I were 'location hunting' for BROmance The Movie, a film that I wrote and directed, produced by MCBN.

While Beverly admitted that Patrick was hesitant at first, she said he still accepted the role.

"I was excited to have you as the lead actor. You said yes without seeing the script! Thank you for your trust, Patrick," Beverly said.

"Although you expressed reluctance because you haven’t acted onscreen for a long time, it was a full-length comedy film," she added.

"I assured you that there’s nothing to worry about because I’ll run a workshop to prep everyone, and you gamely agreed," she continued.

Beverly recalled how it was for them to do the workshop to prepare him for the role.

"I’ll never forget how happy you were at doing a comedy workshop. You enjoyed the funny and silly exercises despite the whole body workout. It was one full day of laughter. I will forever cherish those memories," she said.

"I know the entire cast and crew will surely miss you!!! You are our very own and Canada’s PAPA P!!!" she added.

Meanwhile, Beverly offered her condolences to Patrick's family.

"Our deepest condolences to your wife Liezle, son, and the loved ones you left behind. RIP PATRICK," she said.

Patrick started out in showbiz as a model and celebrity endorser, which eventually paved the way for his career in the entertainment industry.

During his prime, he starred in local films like Sa Piling ng Iba, Una Kang Naging Akin, Koronang Itim, and Asawa Mo, Misis Ko.

Throughout his career, he was able to do over 40 films before deciding to relocate to Canada, where he is survived by his non-showbiz wife, Chat, and their only son Aiden.

Actor Eric Quizon revealed that his family has already filed for a case against the manufacturer of liquor brand Banayad Whisky after it failed to stop production of its products with the face of his father Dolphy on the packaging.

Eric added that the image of the King of Comedy and the name Banayad Whisky, are both patented and copyrighted by the family.

Dolphy passed away back in 2012 leaving 18 children behind.

On his Instagram post, the 56-year-old Eric warned his followers about the “bootleg seller” whom they previously came in contact with but has since estopped communicating with them.

“This serves as a warning to all. This bootleg seller is using my dad's image and banayad whisky, which are patented and with copyrights. At first they cooperated with us but stopped communicating when the Quizons demanded them to stop selling. We have filed a case against [them]. Please BEWARE! #banayadwhiskey,” he wrote.

Eric clarified that the Banayad Whisky being sold in the market is not associated with Dolphy and the Quizon family at all.

“This is to inform the public that: BANAYAD WHISKY as shown in the photograph above and/or any product or merchandise having the same brand, is NOT ASSOCIATED, AFFILIATED, OR CONNECTED with RODOLFO ‘DOLPHY’ VERA QUIZON and/or the HEIRS OF DOLPHY. Any complaint or transaction related to BANAYAD WHISKY shall not be acknowledged by the heirs of Dolphy. Please be guided accordingly,” the statement went.

Meanwhile, netizens and fans of Dolphy showed their support for the family in the comment section. Netizens shared how wrong it was for the liquor brand to use the image of the late actor without the permission of the family.

“You should send a cease and desist letter,” one netizen suggested.

“Quizon family seems to be lovely.. what is it about these cruel people tampering with your identities?..first it was your identity.. now this?? You will all be in my prayers Sir,” another netizen added.

As of this writing, the liquor company has yet to release a statement about the issue.

Carlos Siguion-Reyna said what he liked most about the old days of filming movies was that they had more time to shoot scenes compared to the ones being made today.

"That’s why kung minsan five scenes lang a day yung schedule to take 'yung rehearsals with actors and technical rehearsals. One of the most memorable scenes in the 1995 film was the physical fight between Maricel and Snooky who play sisters in the film. Direk Carlo explained why he shot that action sequence in just one take.

“I decided early on, na hindi puwedeng fight scene ng mga lalake na by numbers na punch dito, punch diyan. Kasi hindi kapani-paniwala. Kasi normally, from when they’re young, 'yung mga boys nag-te-train na sila kaya pag bugbugan alam mo na gagawin mo. "So we had to decide early on na dapat bara bara and dapat natural. So kung sino makatama kanino, just go with it, go for it. But I told them, isang take lang ito. We cannot do this again. Kasi nga, it’s talagang free for all. So one take 'yun,” he added.

During the special screening of the film, Direk Carlo also shared the difference between filmmaking before and in the present day.

“Sa akin ang nakakapagod sa directing is really planning everything. Minsan hindi ako makatulog kasi iniisip ko kung dudugtong ba 'yung isang scene sa pinanggalingan sa pupuntahan? So it’s very tiring sa ganun. What I really like about those days is that we had more time. Probably mga three weeks, mga 21 days probably. The last film I did was 11 days. Hindi na puwede 'yung mga 21 days," he said.

"So ngayon wow, may nababalitaan ako three days eh. Pero normally now siguro seven to 10 days. I think I can still do it in that time but not with these meticulously plotted shots. Kasi those will all have to be rehearsed with the technical group, 'yung framing and all," he added.

'Yung katakot takot ang change focuses, ang track focuses, and all of that has to be rehearsed. And iba pa 'yung sa actors. 'Yung mga ikot nila, mga turn ng ulo. I kind of miss yung time na yun. Kais ngayon 12 to 14 hours na lang yung maximum time which is tama namang length of time after especially the lockdown,” he explained.

Inagaw Mo Lahat Sa Akin’s restoration was made possible alongside Central Digital Lab and first made its digital premiere in 2020 via KTX.ph after its theatrical release in 1995.

Prior to its screening at the Metropolitan Theater, other restored titles from Sagip Pelikula were also featured in the Mga Hiyas ng Sineng Filipino event, including Sana Maulit Muli and Himala.

With her 1995 family drama classic film Inagaw Mo ang Lahat sa Akin being the latest installment of Mga Hiyas ng Sineng Filipino, Snooky Serna admitted it brought back a lot of good memories of her working with her co-stars Maricel Soriano, Tirso Cruz III, and Eric Quizon.

“Naaalala ko at saka na-se-senti ako kasi naaalala ko yung mga kaganapan behind the scenes parang nanumbalik ba (laughs). Tapos ngayon na pinanuod ko siya ulit, it has a fresh take on me. Para bang pinanunuod ko ulit siya for the first time ulit. Ganun ka-timeless yung pelikula. It’s a classic and I’m honored to be a part of it,” she shared during the Inagaw Mo Ang Lahat Sa Akin special screening , co-organized by the Film Development Council of the Philippines' (FDCP), at the Manila Metropolitan Theater (MET).

The film’s story focuses on the intense sibling rivalry between sisters Jacinta (Maricel) and Clarita (Snooky), following the latter's return to their humble provincial home years after leaving for the city in search of a better life. One of the most iconic scenes in the film involves the two of them getting into a very physical fight which ended up with Snooky getting a black eye.

“Parang feeling ko anim na beses nangyari yung paikot ikot. Until magawa yung take. Yun yung sa reality ng brain ko. So on the sixth take, sabi ko, ‘Oh my gosh, patay na yata ako, have I died and gone to heaven or hell?’ (laughs) Pero this is all for the sake of realism.

“Ang mga babae naman kasi talaga, we had to do it in a bara bara way. Wala talaga kaming technique kung panao mag-away eh. At saka yung character ni Cel (Soriano) nandun na siya na parang possessed na siya eh. She was in the height of her anger and yung kimkim ng sama ng loob niya sa buong pelikula, dun na niya nailabas talaga yung galit niya. Ang galing galing ni Cel,” she recalled.

Despite getting a minor injury on the set, Snooky said she has no regrets filming that scene.

“Medyo nabukulan lang ako ni Marciel at saka nagkaroon lang ako ng black eye, hindi naman masyado (laughs). Kasi naman noon napaka-frail ko. Nakita niyo naman kung gaano ako kapayat. So talagang lumilipad ako (laughs). Pero siyempre naman bilang ate ko, alam ko si Maricel puwede siya maging mas malakas dun eh. Baka tumalbog ako sa sky at hindi na ako bumalik sa earth (laughs).

“So we had to do the scene and siya talaga nagdala nung eksena. Sa pagka-frail ko lang, hindi lang talaga ako makaariba masyado, so medyo may konting na-black eye-an ako ng konti ni Ms. Mary (laughs). Pero okay lang yun kasi nag-consent naman kami to do the scene so I cannot be maarte about it or look back on it with bitterness. Nandun na eh, tapos na.

“Ang importante ay after that scene, nag-usap kami ni ate tapos nailabas ko yung sama ng loob ko at that time, na baka naman unfounded dahil baka maarte lang ako noon. Tapos lumabas na maganda naman yung pelikula. Obra maestra naman talaga. I don’t know if this is stupid to say but it’s all worth it naman eh. Sabi nga nila when you act in a movie, it’s blood, sweat, and tears that you give. So ang gusto ko lang sabihin, at ito’y walang halong ek-ek or kiyeme, I’m just really so proud to have been a part of this masterpiece,” she explained.

Even after 28 years, Snooky said she would not be more proud of being part of director Carlos Siguion-Reyna’s film.

“I learned from all of them and I tip my hat to all of them. Na-realize ko yung symbiotic yung relationship for you to be able to work as one. And nakita naman yun sa movie na meron namang connection kami somehow. Like with Eric (Quizon) we had to have a close connection bilang mag-asawa.

“Ang natutunan natin na lesson dito sa pelikula more than anything else is that importante talaga ang role ng babae sa family dynamics. Importante talaga yung babae, hindi lang ang lalake ang nagpapaikot ng tahanan ng pamilya kundi yung babae rin,” she said.

July 10, 2023 was the Philippine Comedy King Dolphy’s 11th death anniversary. To mark the occasion, his family got together to celebrate him.

The Cosme family, the well-loved onscreen family of Dolphy on the said show, all hold the memory of their “Tatay Dolphy” close to their hearts.

In her Instagram post last July 11, 2023, Claudine shared a Cosme family reunion of sorts to honor Dolphy.

“We luv u Tatay Kevin,” she added.

“Konti nalang complete na kami,” said Claudine in another post.

Claudine also posted a fun video with the rest of the cast, including Dolphy’s photo in the video.

Meanwhile, ZsaZsa Padilla, who was Dolphy’s partner for many years, also took time to visit his place of rest at the Heritage Memorial Park and decorated it with flowers.

“Today is the 11th death anniversary of Dolphy,” she posted. “Please say a little prayer for him.”

Dolphy’s son, Eric Quizon, also posted a photo of himself and his dad on his social media page.

“You are remembered everyday, especially today,” he said.
