Former child star Niño Muhlach shared that it was his father Alexander Muhlach who built the foundation on why he is now a successful entrepreneur as well as why he is financially stable.

In an interview with Karen Davila, Niño shared that his father invested his earnings when he was still a child actor. He now owns a building and within that building is his bakeshop, which sells the popular Muhlach ensaymada.

"Nagpapasalamat lang talaga ako because my dad was always there to guide me. Inayos nya po 'yung buhay ko eh. May building kami and lahat ng pelikula ko kami nag-produce so lahat ng kinikita nun may royalty po ako," he shared.

He further said: "Siya po 'yung nag-start ng trust fund para sa mga bata. I really owe everything to my dad. He really looked out for my future."

Niño also said that his father kept his feet on the ground, constantly reminding him that popularity was not forever so he needed to prepare for the future.

"Tsaka 'yung daddy ko po at the height of my popularity, lagi niyang pinapaalala sa akin na 'Nino darating ang araw na mawawala lahat 'yang kasikatan mo na 'yan. So pagdumating ang araw na 'yun dapat handa ka,'" he stated.

"Kaya I was always prepared. Talagang consistent 'yun lagi niyang pinapaalala," he said.

Niño's bakeshop is already celebrating its 30th anniversary.

When asked how was the transition from an actor to an entrepreneur, Niño confessed that it was not easy.

"Siyempre po [mas mahirap]. This is an everyday commitment. Siyempre dapat mas malaki 'yung pumapasok kaysa lumabalabs. Siyempre 'yung produkto mo dapat masarap," he said.

Though he is no longer as active in showbiz as he was before, Niño is still doing projects in the entertainment industry.

He is set to celebrate his 50th anniversary in show business.

"Siguro I think it is something to be proud of because not everyone can say that they have been in showbiz for 50 years," he said.

“Hindi po siya actually (breast exposure) normal to me, kasi hindi talaga ako pumayag about don,” dagdag ni Erin.

“Kasi siyempre, hindi naman po kami nakikipagkumpitensya sa kabila [Vivamax]. So kaya ko rin po tinanggap ang movie na ito, kasi maganda talaga ang story. And 'yung paggawa po namin, siyempre, hindi na rin maiiwasan 'yung mga… lalo na 'yung part namin ni Paolo Paraiso. Grabe madugo po talaga 'yun,” lahad ng dating Girltrends member.

Ayon pa kay Erin, meron pa rin siyang limitasyon sa mapangahas na eksena sa pelikula.

“I’m still a mom. And 'yung anak ko, sobrang… pagdating sa pagdadamit ko, ‘Mom, your dress is inappropriate! Like … change!’ Ganun siya. He’s turning 8 na this coming December,” rason niya.

Nagpaalam ba siya sa anak na si Kiel na may ganito siyang klaseng pelikula?

“Hindi. Hindi! Hindi na po. Hindi ko na lang sinabi sa kanya. Pero siyempre, hindi natin alam. Mamaya paglaki niya, pag nanonood na siya, makikita at makikita niya," ani pa niya.

“So as much as possible naman po kasi… I’m doing films like this pero hindi po 'yung paganun na. Kasi meron din po akong teleserye ngayon. Hindi ko po nili-limit ang sarili ko sa mga pwede kong gawin,” sabi pa niya.

Nakikitaan ba niya ng interes mag-showbiz si Kiel?

“Hindi ko pa po masabi. Pero ngayon, school muna. Pero hindi ko masabi, ang galing kumanta!”

“Mana sa tatay niya, ang taas ng boses. Nakuha kay Michael [Pangilinan] ang boses, eh. Tapos nagpe-painting din. Nakuha naman sa akin ang kamay. Matalino. Honor student. Nasa international school siya ngayon kasi,” pagmamalaki ni Erin.

Kumusta na ba ang relasyon nila ngayon ni Michael at 'yung mag-ama?

“Nasa kanya po ngayon. Every week, nakukuha niya. Every Wednesday to Friday, nasa kanya. Okay na po,” kuwento ni Erin.

Wala na rin daw isyu sa pagitan nila ni Michael?

Aniya: "Actually, I’m very happy for him. Di ba, may baby girl na siya? (kay Garie Concepcion). Na parang … kumbaga kahit ano yung pinagdaanan namin in the past, kahit na hindi maganda, siyempre, di ba?"

“Like ganun talaga. Nangyayari talaga 'yun sa totoong buhay. Kung iisipin mo nga, worse pa 'yung sa iba, di ba?” So growing up naman, hindi kami nagkulang ni Michael how to explain it to him na, ‘Ganito, mom and dad are best friends. Like they have their different lives,'" saad pa niya.

Pagpapatuloy pa ni Erin" “May mga tanong siya while growing up na unti-unti naming ine-explain sa kanya. Kasi, nature na yon ng bata. Parang nagwa-wonder siya, ‘May mom at dad ako pero hindi ko sila nakikita nang buo.’”

Magkasundo sa co-parenting set-up sina Erin at Michael. Kumusta naman ang financial support ni Michael sa anak nila?

“Sa financial support, kasi, same pa rin naman po. Ganun pa rin. Parang ako, sabi ko na lang sa kanya, ‘Sige, huwag na.’ Kasi andami na naming issues before, di ba?” pagtatapat niya.

“Hindi na ako nag-demand sa kanya ng kahit ano. Basta 'yung school ng bata, tulungan kaming dalawa. International school, eh. Hanggang college,” pahayag ni Erin.

Okay lang ba sa kanya ang blended family?

“Ako po, okay ako dun. Na parang… darating ang time na magkakasama kami sa family day. Alam mo 'yun? Kasi, normal na 'yun, eh," sambit niya.

“Matagal ko na po 'yung ino-offer sa kanila. Lalo na kay Michael. Matagal ko na 'yung ino-open na, ‘O, kung may problema kay Garie na magpa-family day tayo, pwede mo naman siyang isama.’ Ganun, para… hindi ko naman intensyon na kaya magpa-family day, para mag-rekindle kami," sey ni Erin.

“Ang tagal na panahon na 'yun! Ang akin lang, pinaka-concern ko lang is yung anak ko. Na kahit man lang once a month, di ba? Ma-feel niya na, ‘Ah, buo ang family ko.’ Kasi that’s all that matters talaga, pagdating sa bata na lumalaki," huling pahayag ni Erin.

Various couples graced this year's ABS-CBN Ball held at the Makati Shangri-La on Saturday, September 30.

This year's ABS-CBN Ball has the theme of "forever grateful" as the media giant celebrates its successes despite the challenges brought by the shutdown and the pandemic.

The funds raised from the ball are dedicated to supporting the ABS-CBN Foundation. The unwavering commitment to helping those in need is at the heart of ABS-CBN's mission.

Among those who attended the ball was Kapamilya couple Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo.

During their red carpet interview, the couple shared what they are most grateful for.

Daniel shared: "Ako siyempre lahat tayo na nandito ngayon, this is very nice and this is very good for ABS-CBN and siyempre ang pagkikita nating lahat."

Meanwhile Kathryn remarked: "I'm grateful for a lot of things especially for family and for my friends, sobra ko silang na-appreciate. And of course for work as well, work is good. I am happy for Philippine cinema as well so ang dami nating dapat i-celebrate at ipagpasalamat na may trabaho tayo," Kathryn said.

Real-life couple Julia Montes and Coco Martin attended the ABS-CBN Ball together for the first time. As if seeing them together on the red carpet of the annual event wasn’t enough reason for everyone to feel kilig, the two held each other’s hands as they arrived at the event.

Julia and Coco kept their hands clasped together while posing for photos on the red carpet.

Coco looked dashing in a black tuxedo while Julia donned a sophisticated black gown for the night.

It was in May when Coco and Julia confirmed that they had kept their relationship lowkey for 12 years.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Julia said that she couldn’t be happier to reunite with her fellow Kapamilyas after so many years of missing out on the event mainly due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We are good and very happy kasi ito nagsama-sama tayo ngayon and after a long time 'di ba. Parang bibihira na nangyayari ito at parang tama talaga 'yung tagline natin for tonight, 'forever grateful,'" Julia said.

Julia said that the name of the event, “Forever Grateful,” is fitting for the event.

For this year's ABS-CBN Ball, the Kapamilya network honors everyone who has been there for the company over the last few years when it faced various challenges, including the non-renewal of its broadcast franchise.

"Yung mga friends at colleagues natin na hindi natin nakikita everytime ngayon mag-ga-gather together and lahat tayo grateful to be together this evening," she added.

Coco, on the other hand, said he feels thankful to still have a job despite the circumstances he faced over the last few years.

“Siyempre na hanggang ngayon ay nandito tayo nagsasama-sama para patunayan 'yung pagmamahalan, pagkakaisa na hanggang ngayon ay lumalaban pa rin. Nagpapasalamat ako dahil hanggang ngayon ay may trabaho tayo,” he said.

“Marami pa ring trabaho 'yung mga kasama natin sa industriya. Ito 'yung panahon para makapagpasalamat tayo, sa lahat ng mga tumulong sa atin — sa network, sa mga endorsement, sa lahat ng mga tao especially sa ABS-CBN and co-actors natin," he added.

The 21-year-old singer and songwriter grew up listening to a mix of pop, jazz, and R&B music, and some of her musical influences include Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Ella Fitzgerald, and Rihanna. “I really like her songs and her voice and just like her charisma,” she said in an exclusive interview with PUSH. “She’s really cool.”

Alicia — who currently studies classical composition at NUS’ Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in Singapore — knew she wanted to be a musician at an early age. “I’ve always had it as a thought when I was a kid because my parents always found me singing in the car while listening to songs on the radio,” she said. Adding, “But I never really thought that chasing the idea of being a singer-songwriter until around three years ago.”

She describes her style as “unpredictable” — but in a good way. “My style is very fresh,” she told PUSH. “Every new song that I write, there’s no specific genre. In my opinion, it makes my voice as a singer and songwriter to be one that constantly changes over time.”

Early this year, she released her new extended play (EP) titled Lovergirl, inspired by real stories about her platonic and romantic relationships. “Mostly my love life though, and it is about different people who have entered my life and left, or stayed,” she explained.

“I really like that it makes me feel… you know the word catharsis?” Alicia said about creating her own music. “Writing really helps me release whatever strong feelings that I’m feeling at that point in time. Also, it helps to lock it in into a song — it’s like a moment locked away in time.”

“For example, if I’m feeling something about unrequited love, that moment is, like, saved and written in a song. And I find that to be one of the things that keep me creating more music, to express my strong feelings about certain things in my life, because I enjoy expressing myself in that way. “

Currently, she’s working on releasing a new single after her most recent one titled “Body Block.” “This new song is not yet released. It’s more acoustic and more focused on my vocals. And it’s a song about being really sad about not being able to have this person in your life that has left you. It’s a bit of a sad song but I’m working on it and I’m planning to release it in the next few months, I think,” she said.

Though she’s never been, Alicia said she would love to visit the Philippines some day and hopefully play for her listeners here.

“I would really like to. I just don’t know if there’s people out there in the Philippines who like actively listen to my music,” she said. “But if there is, I would. If there’s an opportunity to perform in the Philippines, I would really love to.”

“[That’s one of my goals]. In the next few years I would love to be able to perform beyond Singapore. It would be really cool if I could perform my own music in other countries that’s not Singapore.”

But more than getting to perform in different countries and connecting with her fans, Alicia said that her ultimate goal would be to get recognition from musicians that she looks up to from all around the world. “Like, certain artists that I want to collaborate with. Those sort of artists on that sort of international level, it would be really cool if at some point in my career I could get recognized by them. That would be amazing,” she said.

As for the advice she’d give other aspiring musicians, Alicia said to make sure to plan ahead and to just keep creating.

“If you plan to break into the music industry, before you do that, you need to do a lot of planning. Planning as in planning how you want to present yourself to the world as a musician. What’s your identity, how you want to look like to the world, maybe. What you want the world to see and hear. That defines who you are [as an artist],” she said.

“Also write a lot of music not to put out immediately. But to figure out what is it that I’m good at? What is it that makes me sound very authentically me? That’s really important.” Adding, “Another thing is when you hear people who try to give advice to you, you should listen for good advice and weed out the opinions that you don’t need. Because throughout my experience, some people may say that they want to help, and then they’ll impose their own opinions onto you. So you need to be really careful and know which is what.”

Patience is also key, according to the singer. “The journey to being a really developed musician that is out there is very long. I’m three years and it’s honestly still the beginning for me. I think you have to have the patience and the determination for it as well as the ability to constantly improve and work on yourself. And even if you don’t see the numbers yet, you should keep going, because consistency is what got me to where I am right now.”

She went on, “Lastly, connection with the fans is super important. It’s the one thing that I think I struggle with as an artist, and also generally as a human being because I’m quite introverted. You should interact with the people who love your music. When people genuinely connect and relate to your music, it’s what keeps them listening.“

Real life couple Catriona Gray and Sam Milby took some time off their busy schedules to enjoy their vacation in Italy. The Miss Universe 2018 winner shared a glimpse of their little trip to the beautiful European country.

The two went to various towns and tourist destinations such as the Amalfi Coast, Tuscany, Rome, Pienza, and Sorrento, among others.

Apart from munching on all the food Italy had to offer, Catriona and Sam challenged themselves and went for a hike at the famous Path of the Gods on the Amalfi Coast. This was their first time in the southwest town of Italy but shared how happy they were with their overall experience.

“We loved the vibe of the town and its walkability! In our opinion - a great jumping off point for exploring the area,” she wrote.

Catriona then shared that despite the crowds and traffic, they enjoyed the town especially since they were on a scooter as they explored it.

“Although you need to be confident in driving to be able to enjoy it - the roads are winding and have a lot of blind corners! Sam is obviously a professional angkas driver so it was a piece of cake for him. And I was a passenger princess / navigator,” she recalled.

The former beauty queen gave several tips to her followers. She revealed that packing light is the way to go in the European country as the cobblestones may hurt the wrists and luggages.

“Biggest advice: pack light (cobblestones are not loving for your luggages nor your wrists) annnnd line up to the popular food places 30mins before opening to avoid lines,” she advised.

Catriona and Sam are currently planning their highly-anticipated wedding. In an exclusive interview with Metro.style, the beauty queen shared how they’ve been collaborating with each other to make it a perfect wedding for the two of them.

“We’re really collaborating on anything, which I think is great. I also want to feel his voice in the wedding. Because his motto is really like 'I just want you to be happy. It’s your day.' I’m like, 'I know, but I want your vision in here, too,’” she previously shared.
