After sweeping the special awards during her stint at the 2023 Miss Universe pageant in El Salvador, Michelle Dee returned to the country and received a warm welcome last weekend. One beauty queen who recently weighed in on how the current Philippine representative fared at the international competition is Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz who attended the Mallari partnership launch of Mentorque Productions and Warner Bros. Philippines at Okada Manila in Pasay City last November 25.

In an interview with the local press after the event the event, the Mallari actress shared her thoughts on her fellow beauty queens like Melanie Marquez who was crowned Miss International in 1979. “On a scale of one to 10, si Melanie, who was Miss International, na doon ako nag-judge, talagang gusto ko si Melanie noon. She was a 10,” she recalled.

Gloria also admitted that she noticed many of Melanie’s qualities in her daughter Universe Philippines 2023 representative Michelle Marquez Dee. “And of course, her daughter, I supported her too. She had everything like Melanie, height, grace, and everything. But compared to Melanie, she was an 8,” she added.

The 72-year-old beauty queen and actress is part of the cast of Mentoruqe Productions’ Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) horror entry Mallari which is It is a story inspired by the life of Fr. Juan Severino Mallari, a parish priest in the 1800s who killed 57 people before being caught, becoming the first and only recorded Filipino serial killer in history. After watching the trailer drop for the first time, Gloria shared her reaction with the press. “I don’t know if I was really scared because I know what to expect. But it’s bloody. I think it’s going to be pang-international!”

Mallari stars Piolo Pascual, JC Santos, Elisse Joson, Janella Salvador, Gloria Diaz, with special participation of Mylene Dizon. Directed by Derick Cabrido. Available in cinemas starting December 25 as an official entry to the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival.

These were the words of Marian Rivera as she described what audiences can expect from her upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival movie alongside husband Dingdong Dantes titled Rewind.

"Isa ito sa magandang i-offer namin sa Pasko. Lalabas kayo umiiyak kayo pero maluwag sa dibdib. Maraming realizations," the actress remarked in an interview with ABS-CBN News.

Marian also expressed her excitement over the upcoming film.

"Nakita niyo trailer pa lang kaabang-abang na. Ito 'yung isang pelikula na pinakahinihintay kong magawa. Palagi akong comedy, wala akong heavy drama kaya isa ito sa mga pangarap ko na nagawa this year — at kasama ko pa asawa ko with Star Cinema," she stated.

The actress highlighted that working with her husband helped her play her character in the film.

"Kung hindi siguro si Dong 'yung kapareha ko dito sa pelikulang ito, hindi ko siya made-deliver nang talagang sapul sa character. So malaking factor na 'yung asawa ko ang ka-partner ko dito para ma-deliver ko 'yung character ko nang mas maganda," she stated.

Recently, Marian and Dingdong attended the unveiling of the official poster of Rewind at the ABS-CBN compound.

"'Yung poster na ito ang daming sagisag, ang daming mga meaning talaga behind kung ano ang istorya ang ipapalabas namin," Marian said.

Dingdong added: "First time din namin nakita 'yung elemento ng poster and seeing it for the first time na ganitong kalaki at nakakatuwa talaga na may event for this, para sa amin ganito talaga kahalaga ang project na 'to."

He continued: "And mahalaga rin para sa amin na mai-share talaga lahat ng detalye, lahat ng elemento ng pelikula sa kanila. Ganito kaaga pa lang leading up to the 25th because this is a very, very important project for us. Very personal sa amin ang project na ito kaya gusto namin mas maraming taong makapanood as much as possible."

Kylie Verzosa revealed that she is currently in a relationship with someone not from show business.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, the actress shared: "Yeah, I am dating someone. Non-showbiz. I am so happy. Honestly, I want to keep it private this time. It's a private relationship. And it is really, really peaceful."

In the same interview, the actress also shared the work opportunities that she has been getting in different countries recently which explains her constant trips abroad.

"I just got back from Singapore, brands keep on getting me from there, or like in Thailand, and in Dubai also so parang there are more work opportunities for me abroad and I just take it," she said.

Kylie highlighted that the opportunity to travel is already a blessing in itself for her.

"When I travel I get to parang the world widens for me and I see there is so much more opportunities out there and so much learnings. I learn so much, I meet new friends, I learn from the people, it widens your scope, it makes you wiser, it makes you smarter, so much more inputs. I love it," she stated.

When asked where she will be spending the holidays, Kylie relayed: "I wanted to fly all the way to Costa Rica or something but my family wants to take a family cruise so I decided to go with my family and be with my grandma so we are going to take an Asian cruise all around Asia."

American singer-songwriter Beyoncé dropped the official trailer for ‘Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé last November 23.

In an Instagram post, Queen Bey gifted her fans the official trailer of her much-awaited concert film during Thanksgiving.

“Hey, it’s Beyoncé, wishing you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving. And I’m so honored to share with you the first look at the new Renaissance film trailer,” she said before the official trailer started.

The two-minute video showed some snippets from Renaissance onstage and offstage moments as well as the singer’s moments with her family, especially her kids.

The first few seconds of the trailer showed Beyoncé’s youngest daughter, Rumi Carter, whom she shares with husband, singer and rapper Jay Z, filming her superstar mom.

“Rumi, can I teach you a trick? You have to turn it (the camera) to the side. Yeah, there we go,” Beyoncé said as scenes of her performing and fans reacting during the concert were being shown.

Artists like Megan Thee Stallion and Kendrick Lamar, who joined Queen B on the concert stage, were also seen in the trailer.

“Time is my biggest obstacle,” Beyoncé said in a voice over. “It’s impossible to not realize how fast it’s going when you’re looking through the eyes of your children.”

The singer also showed a glimpse of her fangirling side with singer and actress Diana Ross, who made a surprise performance with her at the concert.

She said, “I think about all of my heroes and all that they endured.”

The global star also expressed how her experiences opened doors for the next generation.

“I know that all of my struggle and sacrifice is opening the door for the next. They are the new beginning.”

The trailer also highlighted the magnificent visuals of the performance stages and behind-the-scenes documentary on the 56-show Renaissance tour which generated 579 million US dollars.

The 32-time Grammy Award winner concluded the video with a powerful note, “I have nothing to prove to anyone at this point. We are creating our own world. This is my reward. Nobody can take that away from me.”

The official trailer was released two days ahead of Queen Bey’s star-studded premiere in Los Angeles on November 25.

As per Variety magazine, details of the premiere were kept under wraps as guests were invited with just a save-the-date note including the screening start time and a “cozy opulence” dress code.

The location of the premiere, at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, was actually announced less than 24 hours before the start of the event.

Reports also said that the phones were locked in secure bags during the event and guests were reminded that no photos or video recordings were allowed.

Beyoncé also revealed in her new concert film that her older daughter, Blue Ivy, was affected by online critiques.

The 42-year-old star and mom shared that her 11-year-old daughter read negative comments about her dancing performance during several appearances on the Renaissance World Tour.

In an interview with Boy Abunda, Michelle was asked the Miss Universe question: "If you could live one year in another woman’s shoes, who would you choose and why?"

The Filipina beauty queen responded that she would choose to live in Apo Whang-od's shoes. She remarked that the tattoo artist is an "amazing symbol of cultural preservation."

Michelle further explained: "She has been defying boundaries, stereotypes, and that is something that I have tried to inspire everybody around me as well, which is to hone your unique story, own your traditions, love where you came from, love who you're surrounded with.

"And truly with that unique story, you can make your country proud, you can show the universe what your country has to offer and in my case, my love for our country can really shake the whole universe as well."

It can be recalled that Michelle donned a Whang-od tattoo-inspired gown during the Miss Universe pageant.

Kapamilya music label Star Pop just revealed their latest P-Pop boy group, 1621BC, last November 24, during the media conference for their debut single, "Laruan." The new P-Pop boy group is composed of former contestants of the reality survival program Dream Maker.

The sextet––JM, JC, Pan, Win, Migz, and DJ––expressed their gratitude towards management who believed in them as a group.

“Very overwhelming kasi hanggang ngayon may naniniwala pa rin po sa amin. Hindi natapos pangarap namin sa 'Dream Maker'. Tinutuloy po namin bilang 1621BC,” JC shared.

“Ito nag-prove na kailangan niyo tuloy at wag matakot to chase your dreams hindi natatapos sa heartbreak. It takes courage to be here. It takes a lot of courage to be here para magpatuloy because galing kami sa talent survival show before. Being here mabigyan ng opportunity passion namin ituloy and pagmamahal sa music," JM added.

Their debut single, "Laruan," set the tone for the future release of the group. 1621BC revealed that fans can expect their music to have a mix of pop, R&B, and traditional Filipino music.

“We wanted to bring back the classics with a touch of K-pop. Balansehin yung music and dance. Sabay pakita ganda ng OPM. Western, K-pop, at the same time showcase OPM through our music and message of our songs,” KM said.

Meanwhile, ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo expressed his excitement for the boy group’s future and what they can bring to the P-Pop scene.

“I know you have been waiting for this. We have been waiting. Nakita ko training niyo and paano kayo nag-improve…Sobra kaming excited sa maging contribution ng grupo niyo sa P-pop. Mataas expectation namin sa inyo. And we know you are very ready for the challenge,” he said.

"Laruan" is now available on all music streaming platforms. The music video for their debut song has reached 12,000 views in just two days after its release.

These were the words of Marian Rivera as she described what audiences can expect from her upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival movie alongside husband Dingdong Dantes titled Rewind.

"Isa ito sa magandang i-offer namin sa Pasko. Lalabas kayo umiiyak kayo pero maluwag sa dibdib. Maraming realizations," the actress remarked in an interview with ABS-CBN News.

Marian also expressed her excitement over the upcoming film.

The actress highlighted that working with her husband helped her play her character in the film.

Recently, Marian and Dingdong attended the unveiling of the official poster of Rewind at the ABS-CBN compound.

Kylie Verzosa revealed that she is currently in a relationship with someone not from show business.

In the same interview, the actress also shared the work opportunities that she has been getting in different countries recently which explains her constant trips abroad.

"I just got back from Singapore, brands keep on getting me from there, or like in Thailand, and in Dubai also so parang there are more work opportunities for me abroad and I just take it," she said.

Kylie highlighted that the opportunity to travel is already a blessing in itself for her.
