Mela Cantiveros is one proud mom after her youngest daughter Stella graduated from kindergarten and bagged two medals.

"Graduation Day👩‍🎓ng aming Baby Steya Lablab, best day ever din kay Steya ❤️❤️❤️ and syempre grateful day today kmi dahil dalawa ang medal ng aming Bebelablab , pero gustu parin daw nya sa skul nya kahit walang elementary kaya next balik eskwela balik kinder padn daw cyaaa 😳😳😄🤭🤪 Char lang," she posted.

Melai expressed her gratitude to God and to the educators of her daughter's school for helping Stella achieve this scholastic feat.

"Thank you kay Lord sa sipag, tyaga at saya mu sa skul mahal and Thank you Lord sa sipag tyaga ng mga teacher sa DML School mga sisters na gwapa kaayu ug maayu mutudlo (magaling masyadong magturo)," Melai said.

Fans online were quick to congratulate Stella on her new achievement.

"Congratulations to Stella and also to @mrandmrsfrancisco. Keep up the good work ❤️❤️," one fan posted.

"Congrats Baby Stella👏👏👏 Goodluck and God Bless🙏💞 ," another netizen said.

In October last year, Stella alongside her sister Mela went viral after their comic "chicken nuggets" clip made rounds online.

With her kids' instant popularity, Melai was asked if she would allow her daughters to enter show business.

"Kung talagang papalarin sila, kung pagbibigyan ng Panginoon na dito ilagay yung journey nila sa show business," she told PEP in November of last year.

Melai added: "Talagang sobra akong happy, pero hindi ko masyado nakikitaan kasi nga si Jayson ang balancer namin, e. So, ngayon gina-grab lang namin yung mga opportunities."

Melai highlighted that finishing school is still her kids' main priority.

"Focus talaga nila is school, pero kahit papaano nakikitaan ko kasi na ini-invite-invite sila kasi natatawa mga tao sa kanila," she stated.

But months before her children's newfound popularity came last year, Mela and Stella were chosen as endorsers of a clothing brand.

"Di makapaniwala aking Ate at Baby na nasa Mall mukha nila 😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰 Cute nmn mga mahal ko ui," Melai wrote on her Instagram page in February.

She added: "Kaya thank you tayu kay Lord na may nagtiwala sa inyu."

Drag Race Philippines (DRPH) season one contestant Marina Summers shared her excitement with her followers on social media last Friday, June 2, as she was featured on the Times Square billboard in New York City.

She was given the opportunity to be on the digital billboard as part of the music streaming platform Spotify’s GLOW––a new global music program celebrating and amplifying LGBTQIA+ artists and creators.

In her Tweet, the DRPH runner-up couldn’t believe she graced the iconic screen in New York City especially during June––which is celebrated as Pride month worldwide.

“Who would have thought that this little Filipina would grace this iconic screen?!? Thank you @Spotify for this opportunity! Happy Pride indeed,” she Tweeted.

After seeing her face and music being shown across the globe, Marina jokingly quoted Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach’s answer to let her followers know what’s next for her.

“Asia to America, next the world, the universe rather,” she added.

Fans of Marina shared their happiness for their “Filipina winnah” in the reply section of the Tweet.

“OMG slay Marina. So proud of you,” a fan shared.

“We love an international queen,” another netizen added.

The 26-year-old Drag Queen released her latest single, “ride 4 me,” last April. This marks her second single with music label Tarsier Records as she previously released “Divine,” with them back in November 2022.

In a previous interview with PUSH, Marina shared how she wanted to open up the music industry to her fellow drag queens as there isn’t a lot of drag music that’s available.

“There’s not a lot of queer music out there specifically drag music, no? We really want to trailblaze that path for the community and divine parang ang concept niya is we want people to worship drag. We want people to worship drag queens and that's the essence of it,” she previously shared.

"Kasi hindi ako magaling mag manage ng time ko and alam ko baka masayang lang ang oras niya sa akin. Iba pa kasi priority ko ngayon, parang may sariling anak—focus muna sa goal," paliwang ng aktor sa panayam.

Hindi man nabibigyan ng pagkakataon na makapag-usap, naniniwala si Joshua na naging maayos ang paghihiwalay nila ng landas ni Julia.

“Oo nasabi ko ‘yan sa interview ko. Kung mayroon man, siya ‘yung unang pumapasok sa isip ko,” ani aktor.

Sa huli, mariin din sinabi ng aktor na masaya siya ngayon sa kaniyang buhay single.

Veteran screen actor John Regala died earlier today, June 3. His wife, Victoria Scherrer, confirmed the news to ABS-CBN News. She revealed that John suffered cardiac arrest due to his liver and kidney complications which led to his passing.

John was 58 years old.

Prior to the confirmation of John’s wife, entertainment writer Aster Amoyo broke the news earlier on her official Facebook account. She is considered one of John’s friends even outside of the showbiz industry.

“Veteran actor John Regala (John Paul Guido Boucher Scherrer) - 58 died this morning at 6:00 am due to multiple ailments. Let us all pray for the eternal repose of his soul. (May 28, 1965 - June 3, 2023),” she wrote on her Facebook account.

Other actors and entertainers such as Allen Dizon, Ricky Davao, Randy Santiago, and Gary Ejercito commented on Aster’s post their condolences and prayers for their friend. Meanwhile, Nadia Montenegro reposted the news on her Instagram Stories as she bid farewell to the actor. Nadia had once spearheaded a fundraising campaign to help the actor with his medical expenses.

“Rest in peace John! Tapos na [ang] hirap mo,” she wrote.

The late actor made headlines three years ago during the onset of the COVID-19 after he shared that he was suffering from liver cirrhosis and gout. Various celebrities and citizens previously showed support for the veteran actor by giving monetary donations to help fund his treatment.

In a previous interview with DZMM, John shared how he has been dealing with his illness.

“Medyo malala na ang aking liver cirrhosis pero hindi naman ako nainom ng alak ever since. Di ko alam baka sa fatty foods ko nakuha siguro. Tapos bukod dun, may tubig nga ako sa tiyan, kailangan butasin ang aking tiyan para mailabas yung tubig,” he shared.

John was last seen on screen during his stint on FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.

Fans of the two shared their excitement over the release of the ticket prices. Some netizens couldn’t believe a standing section would be available and compared it to some of the shows that international acts have performed in the country.

Kasabay ng pagsampa sa seven million subscribers ng digital streaming platform na VIVAMAX, ilang upcoming projects rin ang ibinahagi ng President and CEO ng Viva Incorporated na si Vincent Del Rosario III para sa kanilang mga contract artists.

Isa dito ang proyekto na pagsasamahan nina Alden Richards at Julia Barretto na Pinoy adaptation ng hit Korean movie na A Moment To Remember na may working title na Special Memory.

Sa panayam ng entertainment press sa Viva Incorporated President, ibinahagi nito na si Julia na ang papalit sa naiwang proyekto ni Bea Alonzo na kasama sana si Alden Richards.

“Dating Alden-Bea, tapos nag-issue naman ng statement ng kami (VIVA) and ng GMA na magpapahinga ata muna si Bea. So, si Julia na,” bungad na detalye ng President and CEO ng Viva Inc.

“Ito ‘yung remake ng isang hit Korean movie (Special Memory) local version,” patuloy pa niya.

Ayon sa executive ng Viva, nakatakdang umarangkada ang shoot ng tambalang Alden-Julia sa darating na mga buwan kung saan makakasama nila si Nuel Naval na direktor ng 2019 Metro Manila Film Festival entry na Miracle in Cell No.7.

Bukod sa pagsasamahang proyekto ni Alden at Julia, isa rin proyekto ang nakatakdang pagsamahan rin ni Julia at ng veteran actor na si Aga Muhlach.

“Well excited siya, hindi lang dito pati ‘yung movie nila with Aga Muhlach ‘yung Forgetting. Siyempre isa si Julia sa mga importanteng artista ng Viva so binibigyan siya ng magaganda and malalaking projects,” ani Viva executive.

Naniniwala rin ang Viva Executive na aware din si Julia na papalitan niya si Bea sa proyekto.

“I think yes kasi na promote na yan dati noong unang i-announce and she’s professional naman and nagustuhan niya ‘yung role,” pahayag nito.

Nakatakdang anytime in July or August aarangkada ang first ever project na pagsasamahan nina Julia and Alden.

Sa ngayon, nakatutok ang aktor sa shoot ng Five Break-Ups and A Romance kung saan makakasama naman niya si Julia Montes.
