Nag-react ang Dirty Linen star na si Seth Fedelin sa isyu ng umano’y panggagaya niya sa kapwa aktor na si Daniel Padilla.

Sa “Spill or Swallow” challenge ng PUSH Bets Live — kung saan lumabas si Seth para i-promote ang kanyang bagong serye — inamin ng aktor na naiinis siya tuwing may nagsasabing ginagaya niya umano si Daniel, na tinuturing niya bilang kuya.

“Uhm siguro ‘yung ano, ginagaya ko raw si kuya DJ. Minsan naiinis ako. Nagpagupit na nga ako eh oh, [para hindi na kami makumpara],” biro niya.

“Actually, hindi naman ako naiinis. Parang more on ano lang, ‘Why?’ Bakit?” paliwanag niya. “[Pero] okay lang. I’m thankful pa rin.”

Bukod dito, sinagot din ni Seth ang tanong kung mayroon bang namamagitan sa kanila ng kanyang onscreen partner na si Francine Diaz.

“Meron, and actually ‘yung namamagitan namin is I trust her, and she trusts me,” ani Seth.

“Kasi pwedeng magkaibigan lang na magkabatian lang, pero may mga deep talks na kami. Ganun ang pagkakaibigan namin.”

Gayunpaman, sa tanong kung single ba siya ngayon, agad na sumagot ng oo si Seth.

Samantala, ibinahagi naman ni Seth ang kanyang excitement na mapabilang sa cast ng hit primetime serye na Dirty Linen, kung saan gumaganap siya bilang si Nico.

“[Sa seryeng ‘to], halos lahat is unang beses ko pa lang makatrabaho. Mga senior actors, sila kuya Z (Zanjoe Marudo), sila Tito Epy (Quizon), Tito Joel Torre… Marami pa, which is sa ‘kin parang ano ‘yun eh, challenge,” ani Seth.

“Kumbaga kailangan kong tapatan ‘yung galawan nila. Kailangan mag-work eh. So para sa akin challenge ‘yun. And para rin sa akin, bagong kaalaman na naman. Kasi may mga bago tayong matututunan sa mga tao doon eh.”

Ayon pa kay Seth, bukod sa Dirty Linen ay marami pa umanong dapat abangan ang kanyang fans ngayong taong 2023. “Malay natin, magkaroon tayo ng pelikula,” saad niya.

Sa pinakabagong vlog ni Ogie Diaz, sinabi ni Seth na isa sa mga dahilan kung bakit nananatili pa rin siya sa bahay sa Cavite. Dito ipinanganak at lumaki si Seth.

Aniya, maliban sa naroon ang kanyang pamilya, maituturing niyang kaligayan ang pagtira roon dahil lahat ay nandoon na.

“Home is family, happiness and everything. Lahat nandu’n. ‘Yung bahay namin, du’n ako pinanganak. ‘Yung kwarto ko ngayon, du’n ako pinanganak,” ani Seth.

Ayon pa sa kanya, special sa kanya ang bahay na iyon dahil may sentimental value ito sa kanya.

“As in ‘yung bahay na ‘yun napaka [special] sa akin. Wala pa ako, ‘yung bahay na ‘yun, bahay na,” aniya.

Ayon pa sa Kapamilya actor, minsan na siyang naninirahan sa isang condo sa Quezon City ngunit dalawang beses lang siya umuuwi sa kanilang bahay noong mga panahong iyon.

“Kasi nu’ng nagsisimula po ako, tumira ako ng Don Antonio, [Quezon City], sa may Ever. And umuuwi lang ako sa bahay sa Cavite parang twice a month,” saad niya.

Ngunit dumating ang panahon kung saan napagtanto niyang kailangan niya nang umuwi.

“So, parang hindi ko nakumusta sila mama. Hindi ko sila masyado nakakausap. And September ng 2019, tumawag si Ermat. Sabi niya: ‘Anak uwi ka dito. ‘Yung lolo mo mukhang mamaalam na’,” aniya.

“Umuwi ako nu’n. Umuwi ako ng Dasma nu’n. ‘Yun narealize ko na parang ‘ito na lang ba ‘yung gagawin ko? ‘Pag merong ganyan at saka ako pupunta? At saka ako maaalalang pumunta?’,” dagdag pa niya.

Hanggang sa dumating na ang taong 2020 kung saan nagdesisyon siyang bumalik sa Cavite at bitawan ang kanyang condo.

“So nag-2020. Nagsimula na ‘yung pandemic. Sabi ko talaga kay Mama: ‘Ma, bitawan ko ‘yung condo. Bumalik po ako nu’ng Cavite. Tapos pagbalik ko ng Cavite ang ginawa ko, ‘yung bahay, inunti-unti kong ipaayos,” saad ni Seth.

Aniya, hindi niya maatim, na maganda ang kanyang inuuwian ngunit hindi maayos ang tinitirhan ng kanyang mga magulang. Kaya naman nagdesisyon siyang ipaayos ito.

‘Yung bahay namin tatlong kwarto lang. ‘Yung normal na bahay sa subdivision, which is dati, tingnan mo, sa condo ako nakatira. Sala ko may aircon, may heater ‘yung banyo ko, ‘yung dalawang kwarto ko sa condo, may aircon, may TV na maayos, ang ganda,” aniya.

“Pero ‘yung bahay ko ito lang. Naka-vinyl lang. Walang aircon, ang init. ‘Yung CR, hindi maayos. Du’n ko narealize na ‘Ano ’to?’ Hindi tama ’to’,” dagdag pa niya.

Sa pinakabagong vlog ni Ogie Diaz, sinabi ni Seth na isa sa mga dahilan kung bakit nananatili pa rin siya sa bahay sa Cavite. Dito ipinanganak at lumaki si Seth.

Aniya, maliban sa naroon ang kanyang pamilya, maituturing niyang kaligayan ang pagtira roon dahil lahat ay nandoon na.

“Home is family, happiness and everything. Lahat nandu’n. ‘Yung bahay namin, du’n ako pinanganak. ‘Yung kwarto ko ngayon, du’n ako pinanganak,” ani Seth.

Ayon pa sa kanya, special sa kanya ang bahay na iyon dahil may sentimental value ito sa kanya.

“As in ‘yung bahay na ‘yun napaka [special] sa akin. Wala pa ako, ‘yung bahay na ‘yun, bahay na,” aniya.

Ayon pa sa Kapamilya actor, minsan na siyang naninirahan sa isang condo sa Quezon City ngunit dalawang beses lang siya umuuwi sa kanilang bahay noong mga panahong iyon.

“Kasi nu’ng nagsisimula po ako, tumira ako ng Don Antonio, [Quezon City], sa may Ever. And umuuwi lang ako sa bahay sa Cavite parang twice a month,” saad niya.

Ngunit dumating ang panahon kung saan napagtanto niyang kailangan niya nang umuwi.

Hanggang sa dumating na ang taong 2020 kung saan nagdesisyon siyang bumalik sa Cavite at bitawan ang kanyang condo.

Aniya, hindi niya maatim, na maganda ang kanyang inuuwian ngunit hindi maayos ang tinitirhan ng kanyang mga magulang. Kaya naman nagdesisyon siyang ipaayos ito.

“Pero ‘yung bahay ko ito lang. Naka-vinyl lang. Walang aircon, ang init. ‘Yung CR, hindi maayos. Du’n ko narealize na ‘Ano ’to?’ Hindi tama ’to’,” dagdag pa niya.

No, Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel did not resign as Miss USA.

While it is true that R’Bonney has passed on the Miss USA crown to runner-up Morgan Romano, it does not equate to resigning the position.

R’Bonney is a fashion designer who hails from Houston, Texas and proudly celebrates her Filipino-American heritage.

"My dad moved to America from the Philippines on a college scholarship with about $20 in his pocket. He wanted to pave a new life for himself. He met my mom in Texas, who is a country woman from Beaumont,” she candidly shared in an interview. “I'm a very proud Filipina Texan.”

R’Bonney is the first Asian-American to win the title of Miss Texas USA. Last October 3, 2022, she went on to win the national title of Miss USA in Reno, Nevada.

However, her Miss USA win was subject to controversy as allegations of her win being rigged surfaced. A number of Miss USA contestants alleged that there was favoritism on the part of Crystle Stewart, the director of the national pageant, which led to R’Bonney allegedly receiving an advantage over the others. While no proof of this ever came to light, Crystle still had to resign her position.

With R’Bonney passing on her Miss USA crown to Morgan, who represented the state of North Carolina and was the runner-up, some claimed that this meant she had to resign her position in connection to the controversy.

The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) debunked this insinuation and clarified that this has really been the practice for years.

In 1995, Chelsi Smith was crowned Miss Universe and Shanna Moakler took over her Miss USA duties. The same thing happened in 1997, when Miss Universe Brooke Lee turned over her duties to Brandi Sherwood. Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo likewise passed on her Miss USA duties to Nana Meriweather.

Since R’Bonney won the international beauty pageant and now holds the title of Miss Universe 2022, it was expected that she would pass on the Miss USA title to her runner-up and her reign be completed by Morgan. This does not mean that R’Bonney’s win was void, though.

R’Bonney officially crowned Morgan as Miss USA during the preliminary competition of Miss Alabama USA and Miss Alabama Teen USA pageants. While it isn’t usually the practice to have the passing on of the title done with such pomp and circumstance, MUO maintains that there is nothing unusual with the actual transferring of the title of Miss USA by a reigning Miss Universe.

MUO explained that it is part of the rules of the organization that whoever wins the title of Miss Universe has to rescind the national title to a successor. This is done so that the newly-crowned Miss Universe can fully focus on her new set of responsibilities.

While this does not mean that Morgan will be the country’s representative in competing in the 2023 Miss Universe pageant, as now-Miss USA, Morgan will be fulfilling the duties of Miss USA for the remainder of the current reign.

Anne Jakrajutatip expressed her admiration for Miss Universe 2022 winner R'Bonney Gabriel.

In an interview with Filipino beauty entrepreneur Olivia Quido, Anne commended R'Bonney's talent and character.

"She's so lovely, she's very mature. She's still in her 20s [but] I can see her maturity, responsibility, and also professionalism. As a designer who can do upcycling and sustainability projects, you cannot believe that she can turn something unused into something useful and colorful," she remarked.

"I call her like, you're going to be the most fashionable Miss Universe we ever have."

Anne also addressed those who continue to question R'Bonney winning the Miss Universe crown.

"For people who criticize, we should give respect to R'Bonney also. She did such a great job as a young woman who conquered the stage. Why don't we respect her seeing her performance on stage?" she highlighted.

Anne also explained how the contestants are scored once they enter the top five.

"In the final five they are all equally beautiful. Some of them you might think more beautiful than others, that is your opinion. But you once they are in the final five everything is set zero again and the turning point will be the final question," she said.

The Thai entrepreneur also pointed out how the final question is the ultimate turning point to determine the winner.

"In the final question, she (R'Bonney) used the term 'transformational leadership.' She used and also implemented the 'force for good' [through her efforts toward] sustainability in her fashion line," she remarked.

"She's actually implementing that. Not just saying I'm going to do this campaign. She's actually implementing this for quite a long time that's why I think that would be the important essential part to make the judges see her as a winner," she added.

Anne is the new owner of the Miss Universe Organization. Her company JKN Global Group acquired the Miss Universe franchise from IMG back in October 2022.

In the same interview, Anne was asked why she decided to acquire the Miss Universe Organization.

"[It is to have] a global platform here because I already have the national platform. I think it's time and right also... and Miss Universe organization is a complete package and platform for me. In order to speak out and also to help other women all women," she said.

Anne also discussed what pageant fans can expect from this new era of the Miss Universe pageant.

"We would love to become the number one platform for women's empowerment, that would be the big change. Rather than focusing on the crown alone. We focus on the quality women," she said.

The 71st edition of the Miss Universe pageant was held at New Orleans, Louisiana.

During the pageant, Anne also delivered an empowering message as she leads the Miss Universe Organization moving forward.

"From now on it’s going to be run by women, owned by a trans woman for all women around the world to celebrate the power of feminism!" she stated.

"Diverse cultures, social inclusion, gender equality, creativity, a force for good, and a force for the beauty of humanity," she added.

Miss Universe owner Anne Jakrajutatip admitted that she was surprised herself when some fan favorites did not enter the top 16 at the Miss Universe 2022 pageant.

Among the fan favorites which did not make the semi-finals were Philippines, Thailand, Italy, Indonesia, and Mexico, among others.

In an interview with Filipino beauty entrepreneur Olivia Quido, Anne said, "I think I counted myself that 15 or 20 of them used to be in the poll internationally. Everyone just ripped out the poll, oh my goodness, everything just went upside down," she stated.

Though she was surprised by the results, Anne highlighted that she believes in the high quality of judging of the selection panel.

"I'm surprised but I'm not shocked by the quality or by the high standard, benchmark of the judges... I'm surprised because usually they get in, but it's good news for a lot of other countries. Because they usually say, 'Oh right, Top 16 is always the same,'" she stated.

She also pointed out that the results showed that the pageant was giving an equal chance.

"It's the first time that we had Laos in the Top 16, and a few other countries like Australia [which haven't entered the semis in a long while]. We have to give equal chance to everyone," she stated.

On her message for the Miss Universe fans, she said, "Thank you for loving Miss Universe. We've been here 71 years. We're going to improve, we'll keep listening, but you have to be rational also. You must have reason. You cannot just have backlash all the time," she pointed out.

The Thai entrepreneur was also asked about what changes pageant fans can expect in the next editions of Miss Universe.

"We would love to become the number one platform for women's empowerment, that would be the big change. Rather than focusing on the crown alone. We focus on the quality women," she said.

Celeste Cortesi represented the Philippines in the Miss Universe pageant. Her journey was cut short when she did not make the top 16 at the pageant, ending the 12-year semi-final streak of the Philippines at Miss Universe.

USA representative R'Bonney Gabriel won the Miss Universe 2022 crown.

The recent pageant was the 71st edition of the pageant and its first edition under its new owner JKN Global Group led by Anne. During the pageant, Anne delivered a speech as the Miss Universe marked a new era.

"From now on it’s going to be run by women, owned by a trans woman for all women around the world to celebrate the power of feminism!" she remarked.

"Diverse cultures, social inclusion, gender equality, creativity, a force for good, and a force for the beauty of humanity," she added.

It was in October when JKN Global Group announced that it was acquiring the Miss Universe franchise from IMG.

"We are incredibly honored to be acquiring The Miss Universe Organization and working with its visionary leadership team. The global reach of the Organization, its relationships with global partners and brands, and its wealth of content, licensing, and merchandising opportunities make this a strong, strategic addition to our portfolio," Anne said in a statement during the announcement in October.

"We seek not only to continue its legacy of providing a platform to passionate individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and traditions, but also to evolve the brand for the next generation," she added.

Miss Universe Philippines National Director Shamcey Supsup denied rumors that she walked out after the top 16 of the recent Miss Universe pageant was announced.

It can be recalled that Philippine representative Celeste Cortesi did not make the top 16 of the recent pageant.

In an interview with Dyan Castillejo, Shamcey remarked that there is no truth to the rumors that she alongside the MUPH team walked out from pageant's venue.

"I watched 'til the end. That's why, I am really saddened and a bit angry to hear malicious rumors saying that we walked out after the top 16. Because it is not true," she stated.

Shamcey further stressed that she was actually seated with her fellow national directors the entire time during the pageant.

"I was seated together with the other national directors. I was with Valerie (Lim), the national director of Singapore and Lupita Jones, the national director of Mexico. We were seated together and during the announcement of top 16," she pointed out.

"I know it was not the results that I would have wanted but as a national director myself, I knew that everybody in that section worked really hard into helping their candidates prepare for the pageant. And so I felt like as a respect to these people who are also my friends as well, I stayed in support."

Another allegation that Shamcey addressed in the interview is the rumor that she reportedly left Celeste and did not comfort her after the pageant. She said that the rumor is completely false.

Shamcey explained: "I've also been a candidate myself and the usual protocol talaga is after the show, the girls are not on their own... For me before when I was candidate it was us being ushered back to our MU buses that will lead us back to our official hotel where we can change so that we can attend the after-party."

"So I was staying in the same hotel as they (referring to Celeste and the rest of the candidates) are staying so I went ahead because usually that's where we see the girls in their hotel right after the show. But then when I got there, I found out that [Celeste] did not go back to the hotel because she wanted to spend time with her family, her mom, her boyfriend, and her friends."

Upon learning that, Shamcey decided to see Celeste the next day to give the beauty queen the chance to spend time with her family.

"For me I completely understand how she's feeling and that moment, she needed to be with her family so we gave her that time and space. So ang napag-usapan namin okay she is now with her mom in her Airbnb, she's spending time there until she needs it because her mom is leaving the next day," she shared.

"And napag-usapan namin sige tomorrow na lang natin siya kitain and as you can see the next day the whole team was there. I was there. Everybody was there. You were there so I just want to erase that notion that she was abandoned and that she was left on her own. It is not true."

The 71st edition of the Miss Universe pageant was held at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States on January 14 (US time).
