Jason Hernandez replied to the allegations of his ex-wife Moira Dela Torre’s sister, J’mee, who called him out after he released his new music video, “Ikaw Pa Rin,” earlier this week. The music video showed clips of their actual wedding and has been a hot issue on social media the past few days.

Both Jason and J’mee’s posts have been deleted on their respective accounts but netizens were quick to capture and upload screenshots.

In her deleted series of tweets, J’mee questioned the singer as she never saw him make an effort ever since he broke up with her sister last year. She revealed that Jason was getting “too desperate” as well and he didn’t have the permission to use the clips from her sister.

“Nakakatawa ‘yung buong song, especially ‘yung part na ‘naghihintay pa rin hanggang ngayon sa ikaw at ako.’ Kasi parang buong year never ka naman nag-effort sa ate ko? Never ka din naman nag-effort sa family namin before and after kayo maghiwalay,” she previously tweeted.

“Naiirita lang ako kasi ang layo talaga ng mga pinagsasabi mo sa lyrics ng kanta mo. Why do you need to manipulate people into thinking that you still love and miss her,” she added.

To answer her allegations, Jason confessed that he was indeed “desperate” to have Moira back in his life. He shared some details in his now-deleted post to show his efforts ever since their separation.

“Third, ‘buong year ‘di ka nag-effort sa ate ko,’ how can you be so sure? You didn’t see kung paano ako lumuhod at umiyak so she would take me back,” he shared.

The singer-songwriter continued to recall the things he did to try to continue their relationship.

“You didn’t see kung paano siya nagbasag ng baso to shut me up. You didn’t see kung paano siya galit na galit noong nagpadala ako ng food sa kanya because I thought she was sick, and how she told me to never go near her again. You don’t know how I would wait outside the condo sa driveway para ma-timingan lang siyang kausapin,” he narrated.

He revealed in the post that he called up Moira recently to tell her how much he misses his “best friend.”

“We spoke on the phone about three weeks ago and told her I missed her. I miss my best friend. That’s why I never had any other relationship before and after we broke up. You call me desperate, yes, I am desperate to have her back. I made mistakes but I wanna be able to say that I did everything to make up and learn from it,” he revealed.

Meanwhile, Moira has not given any statement as of this writing.

From the sexiest female stars to the hottest hunks, here are eight fitness-obsessed celebs to help keep you motivated at the gym and get that rocking bod this 2023.

KYLIE VERZOSA

Kylie Verzosa is always summer-ready. The beauty queen-actress keeps her slim figure by by hitting the gym with her personal trainer, Arnold Aninion, three to four times a week.

Dishing on her fitness routine, Arnold told Preview that Kylie starts her workouts with 20 to 30 minutes of steady state cardio (either on a stair master or inclined treadmill), followed by 60 to 80 minutes of weight lifting. She does compound movements (like leg press and cable rows) as well as isolation exercises to target all muscles of her body.

“Initially training [with Kylie] was a bit sporadic as she [had] commitments to taping and photoshoots," Arnold said. "But her accomplished professionalism filtered to her training and she has been training three to four times a week or as often as possible, and mainly in the evenings.”

“So while you sleep cozy in your bed at night, she’s in the gym focused on her body," he added.

“We gotta stay fit. I think the number one thing na, let's say, beauty pageant candidates don't do... I think we really need to work out. Make sure our bodies are fit,” Kylie, who was crowned Miss International 2016, said in a previous vlog.

“It's not only for aesthetics, but it's to make us feel better as well. It makes me think better. Personally, I feel so much better after a workout."

KIM CHIU

Kim Chiu has always been a fitness junkie. Not only is she a brilliant actress and a talented host, but she’s also certified duathlete.

Despite her busy schedule at work, the It’s Showtime mainstay sees to it that she makes time to work out and get moving in the morning. She told Metro.Style in 2020 that she works out six times a week, usually for up three hours at a time.

“I bike for two hours and do high-intensity training for one hour,” she told the magazine. “Ayokong magka-muscle. Gusto ko lang mawala 'yung mga extra fat that is really needed.”

For her abs, Kim keeps them toned by doing 18 core movements, including reverse crunches, Russian twists, flutter kicks, and various types of planks.

“I love to do CORE WORKOUT AND TOTAL BODY! The result is legit if you put hard work and effort to what you want your body will be in the next few days. Keep going and always remember strong mind is strong body #wagkangbumitaw,” said Kim.

ANNE CURTIS

Anne Curtis is #FitnessGoals. The “Multimedia Star” has conquered marathons in New York, London, and Tokyo, and is built like a true athlete. She’s always been passionate about fitness, telling Preview in 2014 that she never skips a workout despite her hectic schedule.

“If I have to wake up extra early, I will make that sacrifice," she said.

Aside from running, Anne keeps fit by doing high intensity interval training (HIIT) and circuit training. Her fitness inspirations? Candace Swanepoel, Jessica Alba, and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Sharing her tips for those who are just getting back into a routine after a long break, Anne says to take it easy.

“Try brisk walking. It may be on the treadmill, but personally, I like walking outdoors, around the village. Then a light jog,” she said.

She also emphasized the importance of having a proper workout and diet plan. “Having the proper meal plan works," she said. "You’ll also notice that if you have a change of diet, you’ll see a difference. What makes you bloat instantly or what doesn't... You'll know what to avoid. You become informed and educated.”

LOVI POE

Have you seen Lovi Poe’s abs? The FPJ’s Batang Quiapo star shared the secret to her killer body in an interview with The Philippine Star Life in 2022.

“Oh, I make time,” she said. “I have a lot of days like [I don’t want to get out of bed to work out], but I get up anyway because ang habol ko is the feeling after.”

Her usual activities are boxing, pilates, and running. However, running is her favorite way to break out a sweat, according to Lovi. “When I travel and I visit a new place, a new city, that’s the first thing I do in the morning—I run around and explore it,” she said.

“I think I just enjoy everything because I work out with a good trainer as well who makes me laugh while I lift heavy weights at the same time,” she added.

JAKE CUENCA

Jake Cuenca is seriously dedicated to exercise, previously telling the Philippine Star that he hits the gym every day no matter how hectic his schedule is.

“When you’re fit and, and you know you’re in the best condition of your life, you feel like you can take on anything,” he said. “I take time to maintain my physique. It’s just a matter of waking up earlier than your call time to be at the gym.”

Sharing his workout routine, Jake said he loves functional workouts as it makes him “feel good.”

“I use the Rapid Fit or cable machine because I do the core kinesis workout. I do a lot of twisting with that,” he said. “I do a whole body workout. I usually do suspension training every day at my house. But my favorite thing for my abs is using the ab roller. And just doing suspension ab workouts. Like, I do my leg raises, sit-ups, inverted crunches and knee-ups — mostly functional work. My body reacts to that the best.”

Asked for his advice to those who are struggling to get fit, Jake said it helps to hit the gym first thing in the morning.

“To me, the best advice that I can give is the moment you get up just put on your gym clothes and go to the gym. Don’t lounge on your couch or think about too many things anymore,” he said. “Just put on those clothes or even sleep wearing it. I did that for a while! I slept with my gym clothes. Then when I wake up, ‘I’m ready for the gym!’

“By the time you get to the gym, you won’t feel lazy anymore and you just want to get it done,” he added.

VIN ABRENICA

Vin Abrenica is no stranger to showing off his chiseled body, including his six-pack abs, on social media. The hunky actor talked about his workout routine in an interview with Philippine Star in 2017.

“When my schedule permits, I work out every day a minimum of 45 minutes and a maximum of one hour. I alternate my exercises,” he said. “If I lift weights today, I do aerobics the next day, such as swimming, jogging or sports.”

Normally, Vin eats a lot (“as in maraming marami”), but when he’s preparing for a photo shoot, he does intermittent fasting.

“I observe what I call an ‘intermediate fasting,’ a 16-hour diet with a window of eight hours when you can eat anything you want. For example, if you have your last meal at 7 p.m., your next meal should be at 11 a.m. the next day. Otherwise, on ordinary days I take three meals a day,” he said.

His typical breakfast includes bread with eggs and coffee with cream or sugar. Sometimes, cereals. “For lunch, mostly beef or chicken breast. I have stopped eating pork,” he said. “For dinner, I eat as much as I can kasi payatin ako so I need to gain weight.”

DEREK RAMSAY

Derek Ramsay is hands-down one of the hunkiest actors in showbiz. His secret? “I’ve been wired like this ever since I was born. I really like to live an active lifestyle,” he told Philippine Star in 2015.

The No Other Woman star has a long list of sports — from golf, football, water polo to rugby and Ultimate Frisbee. However, Derek said the ultimate key to his strong and fit body being aware of his diet.

“I used to believe that it’s all about working out. But if you don’t focus on what you put in your body, it sometimes goes the other way,” he said. “If you go to the gym and you work out hard — it’s good. But then, after that you cheat by eating a burger. Or it can go the other way around: you starve yourself so you can burn all that fat. That’s wrong. If you’re working out, you know you’re tearing your muscles, so you need protein to replenish it.”

“Focusing more on diet — even if I’m at work — really maintains it, and my body reacts faster whenever I perform.”

JC DE VERA

JC De Vera is seriously ripped. The actor talked about his love for fitness in an interview with Philippine Star in 2019. “It’s my lifestyle. I love working out. Most of the time when I’m out of the country, I work out for breakfast. I really enjoy it. It keeps me happy and sane,” he said.

JC said he likes to mix everything up at the gym — from lifting weights, to doing circuit training, boxing, basketball, running, tabata workouts and more. He credits his family as his main motivation to keep fit and healthy.

“I have to be fit for my family. I want to have that energy and endurance when it comes to them. Playing with them, doing household chores, cooking for them and carrying my baby is no joke. Being fit is more important now than having a model‘s body,” he said.

On the fitness advice he could give fans, JC said, “When you are stubborn to work out, that’s the time you drag yourself to exercise.” “Because from there, you will build discipline. Be patient with your body. There will be no results in one week,” he added.

“So right now I’m still focused on Take Me To Banaue because we’re doing a lot of private screenings in the US. So it’s a lot of traveling and bringing the movie to the Filipino community to have a bigger audience.

“But also, how it’s been happening is because it’s an indie movie so we don’t have distribution yet. But the Filipino community in the US are so supportive. It’s like we’re the ones organizing these events because they want to watch the movie, they want to share the story of the movie with their friends.

“When I go back hopefully next month, we’re going to Washington, we’re going to be back in Dallas and I think San Antonio as well and we’re also going to New York and Boston, all over the US because so many people would love to watch it,” she shared during the Levi’s 501 Day celebration event held last May 19 at the Mall of Asia in Pasay city.

Maureen also appreciated the warm reception she has been getting from kababayans abroad.

“You see how supportive the Filipino community is and how they love to share the culture of the Philippines with everybody around them. So I love that. I didn’t expect to have so much support.

“Because you’d expect that they love the Philippines, but they really love the Filipino culture and they have all these communities that are very welcoming and very friendly. They’re like, ‘If you ever need a place to stay, stay with us.’ So that’s what I kind of got to know when I was doing these private screenings,” she added.

Aside from promoting her film, the Levi’s 501 campaign ambassador has also been busy taking part in the activities inside and outside the country.

“I really loved the experience. Actually I had traveled to Manila prior to flying to Bangkok. I was really jetlagged but it was so, so nice being able to wear my Levi’s 501. I matched it and let my playful side out a little bit,” she explained.

Maureen joins the jeans company’s elite roster of ambassadors which also include popular South Korean girl group New Jeans.

“I’ve always been the biggest fan of denim. So I loved it when they said, ‘We want to get you as a campaign ambassador.’ I was so excited because I love Levi’s. I love jeans. Like I’m always wearing double denim, it’s my look,” she admitted.

Currently still single after ending a three-year relationship with singer Juan Karlos Labajo late last year, Maureen reveals why she is not in any hurry to go into another relationship just yet.

“There’s a lot of healing of course because you know I have not really focused on myself and my peace. So there’s a lot of healing. I don’t want to focus too much on that because it’s really about my inner work, my inner healing,” she shared.

After the star-studded gala screening for his new crime thriller series Cattleya Killer earlier this month, actor and producer Arjo Atayde said he could not wait for the show to start streaming to audiences next week.

“It’s very exciting. Since last night, I couldn’t sleep (laughs). To be honest, I’ve also been gone for a long time. I’ve been busy doing other things. Especially congress as well. So definitely this is practically my first premiere again after a couple of years. The series is a sequel to the 1995 film Sa Aking Mga Kamay that originally starred Aga Muhlach as a serial killer and Christopher de Leon as an NBI agent.

In Cattleya Killer, Aga’s character is already deceased and Christopher de Leon has risen through the ranks to become NBI deputy director and his youngest son (played by Arjo) is following in his footsteps. When a copycat killer emerges, the son becomes the prime suspect.

As a fan of the original film, Arjo shared how much he admired Aga’s work in the film and revealed he does not feel pressured to surpass the veteran actor’s performance.

“Well I don’t really think about the pressure. I’m out here to enjoy and I can’t redo what he did. He’s one brilliant actor. He really pulled it off.

“To be honest, he’s one of my favorite actors. Napakagaling talaga ni tito Aga and you know, we can only do as much as we can. And again, it’s a sequel. It’s a spinoff. And hopefully people will enjoy. Definitely nagpaalam kami. May timbre naman ito kay Aga and he’s happy about it,” he explained.

In order to portray his role as talented NBI agent Anton dela Rosa, Arjo shared just how much he researched before they started shooting the series.

“I watched a lot of videos, a lot of watching of documentaries, a lot of watching YouTube videos, interviews. Director Dan Villegas has been nothing but helpful. We were able to create this character who’s very different. It’s also my first time to do this type of thriller series so definitely it’s something different,” he admitted.

Having won best actor at 2020 Asian Academy Creative Awards for his iWant series ‘Bagman,’ Arjo said he is not thinking about being nominated for his latest role.

“No. Honestly, it’s all a cherry on top, a bonus. So I just do this because I enjoy. Definitely those awards are just really big bonuses for me to be honest. It’s a blessing. It’s a privilege. More than that, I do what I do,” he added.

Kapamilya actor Christian Bables happily revealed in an Instagram post that he’ll be building his dream house soon. The Dirty Linen actor shared that it has been his “dream project” ever since he started in the showbiz industry.

Christian will be working alongside the architectural firm APL Architects to achieve his dream house for his family. The firm has been specializing in luxury homes and resorts for over 20 years.

“I will soon be building my dream house for my family, and I am more than elated and excited to make this dream come into fruition with Architect Philip Lu spearheading the Architectural Design of my dream home, in the company of Architect Kinnard, Architect Maricon, and Ms. Herchel of APL Architects,” he shared.

The Drag You & Me actor revealed that he has been renting a place in Quezon City ever since he decided to pursue his acting career. Since then, he has moved out from their home in Cavite and away from his family.

“I’ve been renting my place for eight years already since I moved from our house in Cavite to Quezon City, to fulfill the dream of becoming an actor. And I’ve been praying for the day when I can finally take the first step in fulfilling this dream project for me and for my family, because for the first time in 8 years, magsasama sama ulit kami ng mom and brothers ko. I guess, now is God’s perfect time,” he added.

Christian acknowledged that this partnership with the architectural firm is only the first step in building the dream house. He then proceeded to show his gratitude towards the people that made his dream slowly become a reality.

“You’re all God’s precious gift and He knows how much you guys make my heart and mind strong and at peace. Again and again, maraming salamat po,” he continued.

The Kapamilya star hasn’t shared any additional details about his dream house but he promised his fans that he’ll be vlogging about it soon.

Award-winning actress Dolly de Leon gave her opinion about the love team culture in the country, noting that she still sees its value as Filipinos can relate to the stories being acted out by these tandems.

In an interview with Julius Babao which was uploaded on his YouTube channel earlier this week, Dolly got candid about why she thinks love teams are still prevalent in the country.

She defended Liza Soberano, who stirred up controversy on social media back in April after her vlog and interviews about her take on the showbiz industry and love teams were released.

“Love teams are still okay, but it depends on the actor. Kung hindi mo type mag-love team, don’t attach yourself to a love team… There’s still value to it kasi may mga taong makakarelate sa mga storya ng young love kasi a large part of our population is composed of young people. So, they want to see a reflection of themselves,” she said.

The Triangle of Sadness actress added that actors should decide for themselves whether or not being in a love team is good for them.

“But it also matters when we tell other stories [to] make sure that everyone is represented. Kaya hindi rin ako pabor na mawala siya. If some people think it won’t be good for them, then don’t do it. But for other people, it works,” she added.

The Golden Globe nominee shared that she sees where Liza is coming from and that “we have to respect it.”

“Whatever she said, it’s her truth and we have to respect it. We should allow people to voice out whatever [their problems are]. Like me, I’ve been voicing out so many things, di ba? So why not also give her that space? She deserves to speak her truth,” she shared.

“She was really very young I think when that happened and for her it impacted her in a negative way and we have to respect her for feeling that way. There’s nothing wrong with it,” she continued.

Meanwhile, the 54-year-old actress gave advice to aspiring actors who want to try making it big in the showbiz industry.

“Isipin niyo kung bakit gusto niyong maging artista, anong motivation niyo? And if your motivation is for the right reasons, keep studying, keep researching. Improve and hone your craft for the right reasons,” she said.

Comedian Jimmy Santos was last seen on television last December 2021, but it seems he has now moved abroad. A look at his latest vlog entry shows Jimmy all the way in Calgary, Canada.

In his vlog, Jimmy is seen walking through the snowy streets of Canada pushing a cart full of bottles and cans. It appears he took the saying “may pera sa basura” to heart as he headed towards a recycling center to sell bottles and cans.

“Ako po ay nandito sa tinatawag nilang South Pointe Bottle Depot,” he shared.

Jimmy shared how Canada had a recycling system that not just allows them to reduce waste but also helps them earn something from it.

“Ang ibig sabihin niyan, binabalik po at magbebenta ng mga lata rito,” he explained. “‘Yung mga pinaglalagyan ng mga tubig, softdrinks, ay talaga namang dinedeposito dito at binebenta nila.”

While the idea is somewhat similar to the local junk shops that pay a minimal amount for bottles, paper, and the like, the practice of recycling materials is not as common in the Philippines.

Based on Jimmy’s vlog, the recycling system in Canada is already established and is a big help to its residents.

He explained that each bottle or can has a minimal amount for a deposit so that the citizens are encouraged to recycle them.

“May halaga po ito,” he shared. “Para sa ganoon ay ma-obliga kayo na ibalik ito para ma-recycle.”

Jimmy gave a glimpse at the inside of the recycling depot where he fell in line with other people. He carefully unloaded all the cans that he had with him and went through them to be counted and sorted. He was then given a receipt which he scanned at a machine to get the cash rebate of $15 and change.

“Malaking bagay ‘yan,” said Jimmy as he showed the cash that he got.

He went on: “Ito po ay ibinabahagi at ipinakikita ko sa inyo ang sistema ng mga nagbebenta ng bote dito."

“Maganda, masaya, at konswelo dahil nakakatulong sa pagre-recycle ang mga ibinenta nating bote, karton, at ‘yung mga nabubulok po ay ginagawang fertilizer," he continued.

The veteran host was one of those whose job was greatly affected by the pandemic. While he lost his career, he decided to pivot and figure out other ways to make a living.

In June 2021, netizens were surprised to see Jimmy working a side hustle as a meat vendor in the Pampanga Market in Angeles City. He candidly shared his typical day in his vlog, inspiring others in the same situation to follow his lead and “pick up from where [he] fell”.

His positive attitude toward life uplifted many others, and within two weeks of posting his market vlog, he already had over 600,000 views.

His vlog on YouTube, Jimmy Saints, has since grown. His content is a mixture of stories, experiences, and Jimmy working various jobs. Aside from working as a meat vendor in the market, he also tried his hand at being a barker for jeepneys and working construction.

Jimmy seems quite successful as a content creator. In December 2021, YouTube gave him the Silver Creator Award, which is awarded to those who hit 100,000 subscribers.

To date, he already has 637,000 subscribers. His latest video on buying and selling bottles already has 2.1 million views.

While Jimmy has not said anything about retiring from showbiz or migrating abroad, his last two vlogs have shown him all the way in Canada.

American singer-songwriter Bruno Mars expressed his excitement to perform in front of his Filipino fans once again, as seen in a video greeting shared by concert promoter Live Nation Philippines on Saturday, May 27.

The award-winning artist is set to hold a concert in the country on June 24 and 25 at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.

Tickets to the first day of Bruno's show have already been sold out, according to Live Nation Philippines. Meanwhile, tickets to the second show date are running out fast as well.

The 15-time Grammy winner has been touring different cities across the globe this year.

Prior to his Manila show on June 24 and 25, Bruno will be in South Korea, wherein he will also hold a two-day concert.

“Manila! This is Bruno Mars, I’ll be performing at the Philippine Arena [on] June 24th and 25th. See you soon,” he said in the video message.

He previously came to the country in 2018 for the Manila leg of his 24K Magic Tour which saw massive success. Thousands of fans were in attendance at his two-day concert at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City at that time.

Bruno is known for several hit songs such as “Just the Way You Are,” "Uptown Funk,” “When I Was Your Man, “Treasure,” and "24K Magic,” among others.

Though he was born in the United States, the award-winning singer-songwriter is of half-Filipino descent –– his mom is a Filipina.

He is one of the few Filipino-American artists who continue to make a name for themselves in the Western market. Other Filipino-American artists include H.E.R., Olivia Rodrigo, Vanessa Hudgens, and apl.de.ap, among others.

Bruno first staged his first-ever show in the country in back 2011, wherein he brought his Moonshine Jungle Manila tour to Manila.

In this day and age when everyone seems to be pricing their services for as high a price as possible, it is quite surprising to see someone taking on work with “pay what you can” terms.

Such were the terms set by a freelance photographer with the Facebook name Juni Image in his post last May 26, 2023.

“During these days, I don’t give specific prices for the photo services that I do. I accept how much the client can afford to give,” he said. “Just pay for my fare from Sucat going to the venue at give how much you [can] afford.”

What was even more surprising was the reason behind this.

“I am doing this to support my son's (medicines) who is diagnosed [with] Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and for my mom who was affected [by] a fire incident,” he explained.

A photo from October 29, 2022, showed him with his son, Angel Anthony Rose Juni, and the rest of the family in a church.

“We are not living in fear. We are living in faith,” he captioned their photo. “Every day we fight Duchene Muscular Dystrophy.”

Mayo Clinic describes muscular dystrophy as “a group of diseases that cause progressive weakness and loss of muscle mass. In muscular dystrophy, abnormal genes (mutations) interfere with the production of proteins needed to form healthy muscle.”

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, in particular, is the most common type. It is most common in boys, though there have been cases where girls were carriers and were mildly affected.

Mayo Clinic lists its symptoms which include: frequent falls, difficulty rising from a lying or sitting position, trouble running and jumping, waddling gait, walking on the toes, large calf muscles, muscle pain and stiffness, learning disabilities, and delayed growth.

Unfortunately, there is still no cure for muscular dystrophy. While medication and therapy are available, they can only help manage the symptoms and slow the progression of the illness.
