With her digital film U-Turn set to be released online on October 30, Kim Chiu said horror fans can already check out the original film where her movie was based on available for streaming online. “U-Turn is an Indian adaptation movie, meron ito sa Netflix kung gusto niyo malaman kung ano yung kuwento niya and ni-remake niya, nilagyan siya ng Filipino taste which is yun yung ginawa namin dito and yan yung U-Turn Philippine version. Yan yung pelikula para kung gusto niyo ng barkada movie sa pagsalubong ng undas, as in it is a really good movie para mag-bonding kayo with family and friends dahil kahit ako, gulat na gulat ako sa mga nangyayari. Lalo na nung nilagyan na ng sound and effects, lahat. Iba ang galing. Kaya salamat kay Derick Cabrido sa paggawa nitong pelikula na ito. Tinutukan niya ako masyado sa lahat as in lahat. So sobrang excited ako,” she shared during the U-Turn blogcon held last October 22.

Kim said she is excited for her film to be released on a new platform this year. “Siyempre new normal kind of movie ito. First time na movie experience na bagong pelikula. Wala siya sa Netflix, nasa KTX.ph siya. Sa iWantTFC naka pay-per-view siya sa Skycable at sa Cignal for only P150. So ibang movie experience. Hindi siya sa sinehan kasi siyempre takot naman tayo baka makakuha pa kayo ng sakit dun. So now, Star Cinema made a way para makanuod kayo ng bagong movie in the comfort of your own home,” she explained.

After joining the It’s Showtime family as its newest host last month and continuing to perform on ASAP every Sunday, Kim said she still feels humbled to be given the title “Queen of the Dance Floor,” a title which was previously attributed to Maja Salvador who is now part of the new noontime show SNL on another network. “Nagpasalamat ako sa ASAP kasi I’m not the best dancer. I can dance but I’m not the best pero binigay nila sa akin yung title na Queen of the Dance Floor and masaya naman ako na next year, mag-fi-15 years na rin ako sa ASAP so happy and thankful. Wala naman (issue). Basta ginagawa lang namin ng maayos yung production number namin and nag-e-enjoy naman kami sa ginagawa namin and yung mga fans namin, people who truly support us, nag-e-enjoy din sila sa ginagawa namin. So that’s more important,” she explained.

After resuming shooting after the lockdown, Kim shared how their set on U-Turn followed safety protocols. “Best practice on the set is malinis lahat ng pinupuntahan mo, walang basura, walang kalat dahil lahat ingat na ingat sa gamit nila. Lahat ingat na ingat sa sarili nila. Siguro yung cleanliness and hindi nagpapabaya sa sarili mong gamit. Kasi lahat kami sobrang organized,” she revealed.

Watch the horror film U-Turn starting October 30 online by purchasing tickets for only 150 pesos via KTX.ph, iWantTFC, Cignal, or Sky Cable. U-Turn also stars Tony Labrusca and JM De Guzman. Directed by Derick Cabrido.
