‘Hello Love Goodbye’ screenings to push through despite ongoing protests in Hong Kong

While the stars of Hello Love Goodbye are no longer flying to Hong Kong, the scheduled screenings are still pushing through.

Despite ongoing protests in Hong Kong, Star Cinema confirms with ABS-CBN News’ MJ Felipe that the scheduled screenings will happen as planned.

In an interview with MJ Felipe at the Tala Awards 2019, Alden Richards expressed his sadness over the cancellation of their visit to Hong Kong.

The country served as the filming locations for almost all the scenes in the film.

According to Richards, his visit with the cast got canceled due to security reasons.

Protests in Hong Kong were brought about by a proposed bill regarding extradition or as defined by Merriam-Webster, "the surrender of an alleged criminal usually under the provisions of a treaty or statute by one authority (such as a state) to another having jurisdiction to try the charge."

The scheduled screenings of Hello Love Goodbye are happening on August 18 and 25.

As of writing, the film has already earned more than 500 million pesos in the box office.
