Sheryn Regis reflects on learnings from ‘Star in a Million’ journey

<p>Sheryn Regis took a trip down memory lane and reflected on her learnings from her <em>Star in a Million</em> journey.</p><p>It can be recalled that Sheryn was a strong contender in the singing contest, but Erik Santos ultimately claimed the title of grand champion.</p><p>In an interview with Melai Cantiveros for the <em>Kuan On One</em> show, Sheryn became candid about her expectations during the finals of the singing contest.</p><p>&quot;Nung time na &#39;yun, [&#39;yung family ko] they expected. I expected. But you know I love Erik, magaling din talaga siya mag-perform but siguro I expected too much kaya siguro sinasabi ng mga tao na sour grape ako or bitter ako. Pero hindi nila alam ang behind ng story, kung anong nangyari sa akin, kung ano ang struggles ko,&quot; she explained.</p><p>The singer went on: &quot;For sure those contestants before ay may struggles din pero meron din ako kaya nag-expect ako masyado.&quot;</p><p>On her learnings from what transpired, she relayed: &quot;The lesson I learned from that situation is do not expect too much but do your best. &#39;Yun talaga. As long as you did your best it&#39;s fine. You feel satisfaction and the contentment, so ganun lang.&quot;</p><p>In 2023, Sheryn celebrated her 20th anniversary in the entertainment industry with a concert titled <em>All Out</em> at the Music Musuem.
