Pinoy celebrities pen congratulatory messages for Carlos Yulo following his Olympic win

Various Filipino celebrities took to social media to congratulate and pen a message for Carlos Yulo after the gymnast clinched the first gold medal of the Philippines at the Paris Olympics.

"Congratulations Carlos Yulo for bagging the Gold in Men”s Floor Exercise!!!!!!  Maraming salamat sa karangalang binigay mo sa Pilipinas!" Vice Ganda posted on social media platform X.

He quipped: "Pag-uwi mo dumeretso ka sa Vice Comedy Club libre ka na sa entrance may kasama pang nachos at bottomless iced tea! Chozzzz!!!!"

Meanwhile, Eric "Eruption" Tai commented on Carlos's Instagram photo and wrote: "Way to go bro! All that hard work, sacrifice and perseverance paid off! Lakas! 🇵🇭🥇💪🏽."

Former beauty queen Samantha Bernardo also extended her congratulatory message for the Pinoy gymnast, saying, "Congratulations! Mabuhay ka! 👏🥇🇵🇭❤️."

Sports reporter Dyan Castillejo also posted a message for Carlos. "Yesssss Sooooo happy Carlos YULO won the Floor Gold !!! Mabigat Ang medal yessss," she wrote.

TV Patrol news anchor Karen Davila also posted a message for the athlete. "Thank you Carlos Yulo for bringing honor to our country," she said.

Filipino Broadway star Lea Salonga also congratulated Carlos while also tagging Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion Hidilyn Diaz. "For all you have done for God and country, thank you!" she posted on her Instagram Stories.

Anne Curtis, Michelle Dee, Ces Drilon, and Carla Abellana also extended their congratulatory messages to Carlos via his Instagram page.

Philippine government officials also wrote messages for Carlos.

On his Facebook page, President  Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. congratulated the athlete on his Olympic feat.

"We've witnessed history as Carlos Yulo clinched the Philippines’ first gold medal in artistic gymnastics at the Paris 2024 Olympics. I am confident that it will not be the last. Congratulations, Caloy! The entire country stands proud with you! 🥇🇵🇭 👏" he wrote.

Senator Risa Hontiveros also congratulated the Pinoy gymnast. "NAKAKAPROUD! Kauna-unahang GINTO para sa Pilipinas ngayong 2024 Olympics! Maraming, maraming salamat, Carlos! Mabuhay ka! 🇵🇭✊🏼" she wrote.

Tokyo 2020 gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz also penned a message for Carlos following his Paris 2024 win.

"Para sa iyo Caloy, proud ako sa iyo. I-enjoy mo ang bunga ng pinagpaguran mo. At lagi mong ibabalik - sa Diyos at bayan, dahil lahat ng tagumpay natin ay hindi pansarili. Salamat sa lahat ng maganda at mabuting ginagawa at gagawin mo pa para sa Diyos at bayan!" she wrote.

The weightlifter added: "Congratulations! Nandito lang ang Ate Haidie mo para sa iyo lagi!"

Google also paid tribute to Carlos as a gold medal icon can be seen when you type his name on the search engine.

Fans can also virtually send a bouquet of flowers to the gymnast on Google.

Carlos clinched the gold medal at the Paris Olympics after winning the men's artistic gymnastics floor exercise finals on Saturday, August 3.

"Ito 'yung naging resulta po talaga ng lahat lahat po. Maraming, maraming salamat po talaga. Hindi ko alam kung papaano ito ite-take.  Pero alam ko sa sarili ko na binigay sa akin ito ni Lord and deserve ko 'to." he said following his win in an interview with One Sports.

Carlos is set to compete in another gymnastics event on August 4, Sunday in the vault finals.
