Bamboo shares what is the fulfilling part for him as a The Voice coach

Filipino musician and singer-songwriter Bamboo Ma&ntilde;alac said that it felt good to return as one of the coaches for <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/thevoiceteens2024"></a><a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/thevoiceteens2024">The Voice Teens</a>.&nbsp;In an interview last Thursday, February 8, Bamboo shared that this year felt &lsquo;easy like a breeze&rsquo; for him as he finally had the time to adjust from the long break following his stint as <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/thevoicekids2023"></a><a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/thevoicekids2023">The Voice Kids</a> coach last year.&nbsp;&ldquo;It feels good. It&rsquo;s another round of it. It&rsquo;s a time to mentor and, I guess, to meet a new batch of new artists. It&rsquo;s always fun. Better than the last season I felt,&rdquo; he said.&nbsp;<img src="https://ent-image-api.abs-cbn.com/Prod/editorImage/Bamboo-Manalac.jpg" style="width: 300px;" class="fr-fic fr-dib"> He added: &ldquo;Kasi parang last season was more like getting back on it after such a long break and then there are new coaches. But now, it feels a little more comfortable.&rdquo;&nbsp;Gearing for his role as a coach for 11 seasons of the reality competition, Bamboo said he looks forward to mentoring aspiring teen artists who want to show their incredible talent and pursue their dreams.&nbsp;&ldquo;I was very specific. I was looking specifically for parang from my best,&rdquo; he said when asked what criteria he is looking for in an auditionee to be part of Kamp Kawayan.&nbsp;&ldquo;I&rsquo;m trying to get na parang pulse na, &lsquo;Okay this could be an artist&rsquo;. Parang ang vision ko is like kids just playing a piano during the battles, playing guitars, multi-instruments. I&rsquo;m looking for that energy. That&rsquo;s always been sort of what I&rsquo;ve wanted for Kamp Kawayan,&rdquo; he expressed.&nbsp;<img src="https://ent-image-api.abs-cbn.com/Prod/editorImage/Coach-Bamboo-Manalac.jpg" style="width: 300px;" class="fr-fic fr-dib">&nbsp;The veteran coach also shared the most fulfilling moment he had throughout his whole The Voice journey.&nbsp;&ldquo;It&rsquo;s the kids. It&rsquo;s sort of giving back,&rdquo; he said. &ldquo;I&#39;ve been playing for a while here, I&rsquo;ve been in the business for so long, so to be able to share and just a mentor and be a small part in these kids&rsquo; journey to who they become or the artist they become, that&rsquo;s the best part,&quot; he added.&nbsp;&nbsp;Bamboo also revealed his coaching style as a mentor and coach to every artist he met in the competition.&nbsp;&ldquo;I am always the same. My motto is always keeping it real, just be myself and just be honest and more of being reactive to the artists,&rdquo; he remarked.&nbsp;&ldquo;I tried to put them out of the parang, the setting of the competition and I tried to make them live, eat, sleep, and think like an artist,&rdquo; the former Rivermaya member said.&nbsp;&ldquo;As much as possible, we tried to build an experience for them that they feel as a team. But I know that&rsquo;s not in my control,&rdquo; he stated.&nbsp;Bamboo then shared that what keeps him confident and proud regardless of the result is how he and his artists put their efforts into giving their best during the competition.&nbsp;&ldquo;As long as I put the work in, my artist puts the work in, and then we do our best on that given night, okay na ako.
