Slater Young apologized for his recent comments on men fantasizing about other women while they are in a relationship which he made in one episode of his podcast. After being called out by various netizens on social media, the Pinoy Big Brother winner realized how badly worded his take was.

A letter sender had asked the Slater and his wife Kryz Uy for advice as her boyfriend has been talking about other girls in a group chat and what they would do to these girls.

Slater then proceeded to give his “honest” comment and shared how “it’s normal” for boys to talk about other girls in their private messages as long as they don’t express their intention to cheat on their partners.

Netizens soon expressed their disappointment over Slater’s statement, many criticizing him as he is a married man himself.

Slater shared that he took some days off from social media to reflect on the comments he made to understand why people were criticizing him. When asked by his wife Kryz what he was feeling, he admitted that he understood how wrong his comments were.

“Sometimes, you think that you did something okay and it takes a little while for it to sink in na, ‘Oo nga no. Mali pala talaga ako.’ Now, giving it more context and more perspective, parang nahiya ako of the things that I’ve said. It took a lot of reading through comments because I wanted to understand why this was the case,” he said.

The 39-year-old PBB winner then added how his statement was “giving” power to others to “say it’s okay” to do those things. Slater stressed that he would never be okay with objectifying women as it would be “last thing in [his] mind and heart.”

“I should have set a better example. I should have called it out na, ‘yes it happens but this isn’t okay.’ We should hold ourselves to a higher standard… I truly, truly do apologize in my heart of hearts,” he added.

Meanwhile, Kryz assured their fans that she will be the first person to call her husband out if he ever does the things mentioned in their previous episode. Slater continued to apologize and hoped netizens would understand his situation.

“Apologies. That’s not my intention and in my heart, hindi talaga ‘yun ‘yung intention ko so I hope na mapagbigyan,” he concluded.
