IU started her career in South Korea as a singer. She made her debut as a singer at the age of fifteen upon the release of her EP Lost and Found in 2008

She made her acting debut in 2011 in the Korean series Dream High.

She starred in several television programs including The Producers, Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, My Mister, and Hotel Del Luna.

Aside from IU, Anne also met Dakota Johnson and NewJeans' Hanni at the event.

In the past years, Anne met several Korean artists already including Gong Yoo, BLACKPINK, Nam Joo-Hyuk, and Park Bo-gum.

Anne has always been vocal about being a fan of K-Drama.

In an interview with CNN Philippines in 2018, Anne shared why she's fond of Korean series.

"There are only [16] episodes and that's it. There's no season two, so you really get hooked," she said.

She added: "[K-Drama] teaches us about everything that they do β€” how their lifestyle is, their seasons, their culture."

"I mean, my last vacation before I got married was to [South] Korea. I was like, β€˜I wanna see everything happen in person.’ And it was the perfect season because I think autumn in South Korea β€” based of course from their series β€” is the most beautiful time to go."
