James Reid and Issa Pressman set the online world abuzz after being spotted seemingly holding hands in a photo which was posted on Issa's Instagram.

The said photo revived rumors of romance between the two as Issa was accused of being the third party behind the breakup of James and ex-girlfriend Nadine Lustre in 2020. This rumor was then debunked by Nadine herself and Yassi Pressman, Issa's sister.

On Friday, March 17, James took to social media to address the matter.

"I'm only gonna say this once. The past rumors about Issa are just that, rumors," he said in a post on his Instagram Story.

"I usually NEVER address bashers or get involved in hate culture but I feel the need to speak up now because this is the start of something beautiful. And I'm not gonna let anyone take that from me," he added.

The singer-actor also seemingly spoke up about the status of his heart.

"All you need to know from me is that I'm the happiest I've ever been," he said.

James and Nadine confirmed their split in January 2020 in a joint statement sent to the show Tonight With Boy Abunda.

In the statement, the ex-couple highlighted that they decided to part ways not only to focus on themselves and on their careers but also for their personal growth.

"We agreed that going separate ways was best for both of us. We are on good terms and are still really good friends and will continue to work with each other especially when it comes to music," their joint statement said in 2020.

Nadine has since then found new love. She's currently in a relationship with entrepreneur Christophe Bariou who is based in Siargao.

Meanwhile, Issa is currently part of the talent roster of James's agency Careless.

The singer signed with Careless in June 2022.

In an interview with the media last year, Issa shared that she signed with the agency as she felt that they understand her as an artist.

"I’m very excited to see how we could work together with a team that understands me and despite the name, they actually do care about their artists," she said.
