Currently based in the US where she has been doing some traveling, Maureen Wroblewitz recently returned to the Philippines earlier this month to attend the Levi’s The Greatest Story Every Worn campaign launch where she was also introduced as the newest celebrity ambassador.

“I am doing great. I actually just came back to the Philippines for this. I was in LA. I’m traveling a lot. I’m actually flying back to LA on Sunday,” she told PUSH during the event held at the Levi’s head office in Makati City.

During the event, the 24-year actress shared how she has always been a longtime fan of jeans.

“I’m so excited to be here and so honored to be here. The 501 has had a very big impact on my fashion. I discovered them when I was just getting into fashion so it’s very important to me.

“Actually, I had my first 501 jeans whem I was about 14 or 15. I wasn’t working yet so I wasn’t earning yet. So I got them second hand and I’m not sure how much I paid but I remember when I received them, they had like paint stains all over them. So the person (who previously owned them) really loved the jeans and they had them for a while. I didn’t know what to do with them so I actually made them into shorts. So I cut them and it was nice. And I have them until today. I still love wearing them,” she explained. 

Even though she won the fifth season of Asia’s Next Top Model in 2017 and became a Miss Universe Philippines runner-up in 2021, Maureen admitted she is very casual when it comes to dressing up when she doesn’t have work.

“I’m actually into very model off-duty look. But to everyone who knows me, I always show up in jeans. And I love double denim so I always wear a denim jacket and then with jeans and then just a crop top. That’s like the easiest way. I always wear crop tops (laughs),” she admitted.

Last month, Maureen made headlines after making a Tiktok video where she admitted to having trauma from her past relationships. Netizens assumed she was referring to her ex-boyfriend, singer Juan Karlos Labajo. The couple announced their breakup back in June 2022 but said hat they continue to remain good friends after the separation.

“Actually, I think it got out of hand a little bit. So the whole main story was not to kind of jump on what people were assuming Miley Cyrus wrote the song for which was for her ex.

“It was more on when I was in my very first relationship, I had just moved out. I was on my own feet. I was pretty new in the Philippines and so I didn’t know how to independent. And so I didn’t know how a relationship was going to go. I didn’t have a lot of people around me to explain how relationships worked. I was very young. It was my first relationship and so I just realized that within the relationship, because I love to care for people. I give, give, give until I have nothing left. And so I had nothing left for myself,” she shared with PUSH in an exclusive interview.

The Fil-German beauty also explained at which point in her life she is right now after four years with the “Buwan” singer whom she was rumored to have started dating when she was 18.

“When I got out of the relationship, I was like, ‘What do I do now?’ LIke I felt I was not a complete person anymore. I felt like I lost a big part of myself. And I lost my identity. And so it was kind of like this whole year of me traveling was just figuring out who I am and I’m learning to love myself. Like all the love that I have given in my past relationship was just, now I have all this love to give to myself. And so it’s like buying your own flowers or just doing so many things on your own, taking yourself out on a date, you know,” she said. 

Despite confirming late last year that she was already dating again after being spotted with an unidentified guy while vacationing on Siargao island, Maureen said she is in no hurry to get into another serious relationship again. 

“I’m taking it slow. And really focusing on what I need and what I want before I jump into another relationship. It was really about me. But of course It’s like if I was going to speak my truth, people will kind of analyze it differently or think maybe it’s this and this and this.

“I don’t want to talk about my past person (laughs). And because I know he wouldn’t want to do that to me as well. And I wouldn’t want to put him in a negative light but I just wanted to speak my truth because up to now I’m still healing and I just lost such a big part of me and so I’m trying to gain her back,” she admitted.
