Despite having a booming career, actress and content creator Francine Diaz is determined to finish her studies and go on to college.

“Una talaga, gusto kong maging med student. Gusto ko po kasi talagang maging doktor,” admitted Francine during #OneDreamyDayWithFrancine, the launch of her new perfume line with Bench.

She shared that her dream before was to be a surgeon. However, she knew that it would need a lot of time, something that she cannot afford right now given the demands of her career.

“Pero siyempre ang hirap po nun kasi nga, given sa work ko, ang hirap naman nung palagi akong absent at hindi ko alam kung paano ‘yung gagawin,” she explained. “Hindi naman pwedeng ulitin ko ‘yung pagkakatahi. Nakakatakot naman.”

Francine was busy working on the hit series Dirty Linen, shortly followed by Fractured. She also just recently finished a stint as a host for It’s Your Lucky Day.

She has since shifted her focus and is thinking of pursuing a course that is closer to her current career.

“Pangalawang naisip ko is Business Management,” she said. “Since nasa mundo naman na tayo ng showbiz, ‘yun na ‘yung pinakamalapit.”

In one of her recent Instagram posts, Francine shared a snapshot of her day in school.

She shared that the photo was taken while she was rushing through school because she had to rehearse for her hosting duties.

“‘Yun ‘yung hindi ko masyadong napaglalaanan ng mahabang oras, so noong araw na ‘yan, ginawa ko siyang first priority,” she shared.

Francine admitted that with the volume of work now, she doesn’t get to allot as much time as she likes to her studies. Like many working students, Francine goes through the difficulties of juggling work and school.

“Para po sa akin, mahalaga na alam mo ‘yung priorities mo sa life,” she explained.

“Si God, self, and career,” listed Francine of her personal priorities. “Kasama na doon ‘yung studies ko.”

She thanked her team for keeping her on track and making it possible for her to achieve her dreams.

“Sobrang grateful ako kasi kahit sobrang busy ‘yung schedule ko sa work, tinutulungan ako ng team ko para makapag-aral, para makapagtapos,” she said.

She also expressed gratitude to her school for their guidance. She is currently a student at Southville International School.

“Bukod sa inaalalayan nila ako, lagi din nilang pinaprioritze ‘yung mental health ko,” she added.
