It was in March 2020 when Kathryn had the groundbreaking ceremony on the lot where she would be building her family's dream home.

Back in July 2019, Kathryn shared in an episode of Magandang Buhay the history behind the lot that she was able to purchase for their dream home.

"Dream ko talaga na mapatayo ‘yung dream house namin ni Mama. Pero hindi kasi joke ang gagastusin, tapos ang daming priorities… So sabi namin baka next year. Tapos patagal na siya ng patagal bago masimulan," she said back in 2019. She added, "Gusto ko kasi kapag nagpatayo ng dream house ‘yung gusto na namin, ‘yung nae-envision ni Mama kung ano ang gusto ko, lahat, sa buong family. So hopefully mag-start na ‘yung construction soon. Kayod pa."

The resort, which is called Isla Amara, had its opening on October 28, 2022. In an interview with Star Magic Inside News during the resort opening, Kathryn shared why she decided to build a boutique hotel in El Nido.

"El Nido has always been special sa amin ng pamilya ko especially sa akin. The first time na nandito ako it was maybe five or ilang years ago and I fell in love with the place and eventually nung nakita ko ‘yung site ng El Nido na 'to, mas na-in love ako sa place. Kunwari may pupunta ako na friends dito sa Pilipinas, I would always recommend go to El Nido. You will have the best time. So parang home for me,” she said.

"Every time they asked me sa interview, what do you want to do twenty or ten years from now, I would always say I want to have my own boutique hotel sa El Nido and then nangyari siya agad so nakaka-happy. Parati kasi meron sa aking, may happiness na nabibigay ‘pag related sa beach kasi it relaxes me, it recharges me as well, so di ko lang in-expect na ang bilis lahat ng nangyayari, nagugulat lang din ako actually," she stated.
Kathryn added that it has always been her dream to have a boutique hotel in El Nido. "Every time they asked me sa interview, what do you want to do twenty or ten years from now, I would always say I want to have my own boutique hotel sa El Nido and then nangyari siya agad so nakaka-happy. Parati kasi meron sa aking, may happiness na nabibigay ‘pag related sa beach kasi it relaxes me, it recharges me as well, so di ko lang in-expect na ang bilis lahat ng nangyayari, nagugulat lang din ako actually," she stated.
