Star for all Seasons Vilma Santos is gearing up for her much awaited comeback in the showbiz industry. The veteran actress shared on her Instagram that she had a lunch meeting with film director Erik Matti.
It’s been six years since Vilma had a big-screen project and after some discussions, she finally gave the go signal that she’ll be acting once again. On his Instagram, the director shared how excited he is about the two projects that Vilma will be working on with him.
“I’ve worked with @rosavilmasantosrecto in a few commercials but I’ve always wished to do a movie with the Philippine film industry’s most iconic star for all seasons. We will be developing two projects with her and after hearing the stories, Ate Vi gave it a nod. A very happy, excited nod. So excited!!! Woooottt,” the director shared.
Vilma also shared her excitement as she makes her comeback in acting. It’s been almost 60 years since she made her debut as an actress. Prior to her saying yes to acting again, the 68-year-old veteran actress served as a politician.
The Star for All Seasons served as a mayor, governor, and congresswoman for the province of Batangas. For more than two decades of her life, Vilma served the people of Batangas and sidelined her acting career.
In 2016, Vilma starred in the movie Everything About Her alongside Angel Locsin and Xian Lim. The veteran actress won multiple best actress awards in different prestigious award giving bodies for her role in the film.
After deciding not to run in the 2022 national elections, Vilma is going back to her first love, which is acting. Fans of the actress are excited to see her act with the new generation of actors.
