Morissette Amon shared why she and her husband Dave Lamar chose to keep their wedding a secret from the public initially after they tied the knot.
In an interview with Magandang Buhay, Morissette relayed, "Hindi muna namin in-announce agad kasi we just want it to have it within us and our circle. So we will able to enjoy it naman for the past months at then nung January lang namin in-announce. Kaya feeling ng mga tao sobrang bilis, pero 'yun."
Morissette also shared that they are yet to have a grand honeymoon as they were not able to travel outside the country because of the pandemic.
"Nag-honeymoon naman ng small, intimate lang muna. Originally bago po kami na-engage ang gusto talaga namin na honeymoon is out of the country. Siyempre pandemic din so nag-road trip na lang muna. Maganda pa rin naman sa Tagaytay naman. Super nice, naka-relax," she relayed.
When asked if they are planning to go on a grand honeymoon soon, the singer shared, "Hopefully makapa-travel ulit. We also just came from a trip din kaya naka-enjoy din naman din."
In the same interview, Morissette also took a trip back on memory lane and recalled their wedding day.
The singer shared that it actually rained during their union.
"Umulan noong wedding namin kasi June so rainy season. Pero nag-hope kami na maging okay ang weather, kasi outdoor siya. Wala, binagyo kami. Binagyo kami as in sobrang lakas talaga. Pero 'yung tipong ang funny ng araw na 'yon because during the day ay okay pa as in sunny pa, ang ganda. Nakapag-pictorial pa kami sa labas," she stated.
Morissette shared that they had to delay their wedding for an hour to push through with the wedding.
"Literally kinaialangan naming i-delay ang wedding namin ng an hour, hoping na tumila. Nung napansin namin na medyo nag-slow down na ayon pinush na namin. While I was walking down the aisle actually umuulan pa. Pero ang ganda sa video kasi nagi-sparkle 'yung floor, parang magical, parang movie, parang nakaka-K drama," she said.
She continued, "Pero one thing was sure sa akin na no matter what happens today ay itutuloy namin. And parang 'yung naging testimony din ng tito ko, si tito Audie (Gemora) ang testimony niya, is 'yung mismong wedding is like a reflection of how our relationship was. I mean people already know na sobrang gulo din ng mga napagdaanan lang din namin pero we fought lang po for each other and I am super happy na he is the one na I am spending the rest my life with. Kasi best friend ko talaga siya."
Morissette and Dave celebrated their first wedding anniversary last June 28.
To mark the occasion, the couple penned a message for each other on social media.
"My love, God knew exactly what I wanted and needed to lead me to you. Truly 'the fire to my ember', you take care of me when I've felt like I've burned out and lighting me up again and again. This love of ours now within marriage has been far greater than the love we've had before, and we still have a long way to go," Morissette wrote in her message back in June.
Meanwhile, Dave posted, "God has given me such an incredible wife and it has been such a privilege trying to figure out life beside her. What a ride it has been! I’m excited to see where God continues to lead. One year down and I look forward to the gift of every single day I get to spend beside this beautiful woman that I get to call my wife! Morissette mi love, gihigugma tika!"
