"I don’t think kaya ko pang mag-adjust to be with a partner."

These were the words of Janice de Belen, saying that she is already content being single.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Janice remarked that having a love life is no longer a top priority for her.

"Maybe my love life is the last of my priorities. What else do I need to prove? I have five children. I was already married. I had failed relationships. I got separated. I had a relationship after that. I don’t want to get married again," she said.

"Even if you have someone, when he dies, you will also be alone. I don’t want that to be an issue. Then, maybe when I started working and working, I stopped thinking about it. I enjoyed my independence," she stated.

Janice highlighted that she actually enjoys being alone.

"Weirdly, I enjoy being alone. At night, I don’t get lonely. I enjoy my independence for a long time now. I forgot about having a partner already. Sometimes, I ask myself, 'Walang nagte-text sa akin?’ But somehow, you’ll snap out of it. I don’t think kaya ko pang mag-adjust to be with a partner," she stated.

Janice is currently living with her children and her father Philip de Belen in their home in Parañaque.

"This pandemic, all my kids are with me. My worries were how to stay healthy and how to survive the pandemic, because I was busy cooking for the kids. They were eating non-stop," she stated.

In the same interview, Janice also talked about her career as an actress.

"When you’re younger, you think of a dream role which will showcase your talent. That’s where you’ll know whether or not you’re really a good performer. But after a while, you realize as an actress, no matter how big or small your role is, it’s your job to make it shine. There are roles that are impossible for me to do at this point. Hindi na ako bagets," she said.

The actress pointed out that she is open to do any roles at this point if she thinks the role is good.

"Age wise, hindi na. Body wise, definitely hindi na rin. I’m realistic. Whatever roles that come to me, if they are in my gain, I will do it. Kontrabida, hindi kontrabida, mayaman, mahirap. Basta maganda siya sa pandinig ko, I think I can do it," she said.

Janice is set to topbill the Kapamilya series Dirty Linen alongside Janine Gutierrez, Zanjoe Marudo, Francine Diaz, and Seth Fedelin.

She recently wrapped up her lock-in taping for the first cycle of the series and she is set to return for the second cycle in a week’s time.

"Hinay-hinay lang ako when working. Hindi na bata si madam," she said,

Dirty Linen is produced by ABS-CBN Entertainment and Dreamscape Entertainment. The series will be directed by Onat Diaz and Andoy Ranay.

With her decades of experience as an actress, Janice remarked that she never worked thinking she would win an award.

"For me, do your best and give your best always. Whenever I do anything, I don’t think of an award. If you keep on working for an award, what will happen if the film was not entered into a competition where it had to be judged by a jury. Expect nothing. If you win an award or given an accolade, then that’s just a bonus," she stated.
