Actress Cristine Reyes took to social media to share her experience after getting diagnosed with a mild disc bulge following an incident where she “flipped and slammed my back.”
The 33-year-old star said she went to see two orthopedic surgeons or surgeons who focus on taking care of the “muscles, bones, joints, ligaments, and tendons,” according to Medical News Today.
She also went to see an arthroscopic surgeon or surgeons who perform surgical procedures on the joints as per WebMD after experiencing “excruciating pain” in the lower back of her body.
“I have had 2 orthopedic surgeons check my lumbar MRI last week and a third opinion early this morning from an arthroscopic surgeon. I’ve been experiencing excruciating lower back pain,” she said.
While she did not specify the diagnosis she received at that point, Cristine said: “All 3 surgeons said the same thing.”
On Tuesday, September 27, Cristine got into what she described as a “classic fall” where she “flipped over” and eventually slammed her back.
“But here I am today awesomely flipped over and slammed my back,” she remarked.
Cristine ended her post by revealing she had a mild disc bulge in her lumbar region. She reassured her fans, though, that she had been given prescription medicines to help with the pain.
“I will be expecting a massive muscle spasm later for that classic fall I just recorded just now. Apparently, I have a mild disc bulge in my lumbar. At least, I now have prescription medz,” Cristine said.
Meanwhile, messages of support from her friends in the industry started pouring in following her post.
“Hala A ui sana ok ka lang A be better soon A pero ang galing mu sa dulo,” Melai Cantiveros wrote, referring to Cristine by her nickname. Karen Davila, on the other hand, said: “Praying for your quick recovery Cristine.”
