Director Dado Lumibao is proud of his new series ‘Love Bites’: ‘Mas magiging positive ka sa buhay’

As one of the directors of ABS-CBN’s latest digital anthology Love Bites, Dado Lumibao shared why it was important for their team to relay each love story as effectively as they can.

Luckily, these eight episodes talagang inspired by true stories ito.

“In fact, when we were having our creative meeting, talagang wala na kami halos binago or something because totoo yun eh.

“And one thing good about love is that yung willing kang maghintay for the right time na ito talaga ay mag-bloom and all that. And I’m so proud with this project kasi iba’t ibang klase ng pag-ibig yung naipakita namin dito,” he shared during the Love Bites presscon.

The YouTube exclusive series focuses on the different kinds of love, showing the love show in different kinds of relationships between teenagers, married people, an LGBTQ couple, among others. Each episode will be portrayed by different stars like Dimples Romana, Miko Raval, Vivoree Esclito, Anthony Jennings, Andi Abaya, Kobie Brown, JC Alcantara, Shanaia Gomez, Karina Bautista, Gello Marquez, Lance Carr, Angelica Lao, Sky Quizon, Nico Santos, and Kristoff Garcia.

After doing lock-in taping for the series, direk Dado revealed what he learned from delving into these kinds of love stories.

“Tinanggal niya yung pagiging cynical mo, mas magiging positive ka sa buhay na one of these days kakatok at kakatok yan no matter the time, no matter the age, no matter who you are. Alam mo yun. Darating at darating yan. Ayun, I’m hopeful (laughs),” he shared.

The kapamilya director also talked about how he approaches each project including his mindset while making Love Bites earlier this year.

So we always make sure na in terms of treatment, in terms of narrative, in terms of messaging, dapat we communicate well with our audience kasi yun yung importante. So yun ang first and foremost na iniisip namin.

How do they communicate their feelings and all that? So we really need to do a thorough research not only sa mga kuwentong inilalahad pero pati sa audience and all that. Na nagpatulong pa sa as bagets sa kanya and all that. So sabi ko ako yan, yung parang kailangan talaganga mga-adjust at mag-cope with the times kasi yun talaga yun eh,” he explained.
