Jake Cuenca has been nominated for Outstanding Asian Star in this year's Seoul International Drama Awards for his role in the hit ABS-CBN series Viral Scandal.
The recognition, per the committee, is given to five popular actors and actresses from Asian countries, including the Philippines, Japan, China, Thailand, and Taiwan. Breakout love team Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano are also nominated for awards.
"Humbled and grateful for this," wrote Jake on Instagram. "Thank you @seouldramaawards for the nomination and again thank you to my Viral Scandal family, @rcdnarratives @abscbn @starmagicphils for the opportunity. Congratulations to all the nominees."
Jake, 34, played the role of Troy Ramones in the primetime series Viral Scandal that aired for five months before its conclusion last May. It follows the story of Rica (Charlie Dizon), a young woman who becomes a victim of a sex scandal.
Previously, Jake said he considers playing Troy in Viral Scandal as a "dream come true." "This was truly an out-of-body experience for me and every actor can only dream of such an experience," he said.
After two years of being held online due to COVID, the 17th Seoul International Drama Awards is set to hold a grand opening next month, starting with an OST concert on September 17.
The awarding ceremony will be held on September 22, and will be broadcast live on KBS 2TV from 5 to 7 pm.
