Super Junior postpones concert in Manila

Second generation K-Pop boy group Super Junior who arrived in Manila earlier today, August 6, have decided to postpone their concert until further notice. This comes after the announcement of the sudden passing of SuJu member Eunhyuk’s father.

Aside from Eunhyuk, member Siwon wouldn’t be performing as well since he tested positive for COVID-19 after their concert in Thailand.

According to Label SJ, the K-pop boy group’s label, they have been in communication with the promoter and both parties agreed to postpone the concert.

“After many long discussions between the promoter and SUPER JUNIOR members, we both agreed that it will be difficult to properly hold [SUPER JUNIOR WORLD TOUR - SUPER SHOW 9: ROAD in MANILA] as scheduled,” the post said.

However, ticket holders shouldn’t be discouraged as Label SJ announced that the members of Super Junior would still want to meet and greet the fans even for a short period of time.

“We’d like to ask everyone with tickets to enter the concert venue on time,”  the post shared.

Label SJ added that a detailed explanation on the ticket and rescheduling of the concert will be announced soon. They asked for the Filipino ELFs to be understanding of the situation. Netizens expressed their support to the boy group regardless if they will be holding the concert or not.

What matters to the Filipino ELFs is the safety and well-being of the boy group. Some netizens have tweeted how they understood the gravity of the situation and are willing to wait until everything’s alright.

In 2005, Super Junior debuted with their hit song, “Twins (Knock Out)”. Since then, the boy group has produced 11 full-length albums and multiple hit singles such as “Sorry Sorry”, “Mr. Simple”, and “Devil”, to name a few.
